There is a proposal for a new firearms act in the Czech Republic which overhauls the entire legislation. On level of gun rights everything remains more or less the same (+ legal silencers and night vision).
The proposal sacks physical licenses (permits). The logic behind it is that in 21st century nobody needs a paper firearms license. Cops anyway always check the person in their database in case they ever need to and standard ID is fine for that purpose.
The permitting process will be more or less the same, it will remain shall issue formal decision on normal paper with official seal of the authority, just he little firearms license ID card will be discarded.
Are you required to have a CCW permit on you in your jurisdiction? Are there any jurisdictions (apart from constitutional carry states) that don't have/don't require physical CCW permit on hand when armed?
EDIT: sorry for typo in the heading.
In my jurisdiction, yes.
