To me the new ones are good. The Wingmasters have never had a problem, and the new Expresses have a much nicer finish.
Defective barrels? In what way? WM or Express?I had 3 in the past few years. All 3 had to go back for defective barrels. Hope the 4th today is good to go.
Plastic on what?Fourth 870 ran flawless. Fit and finish seem to be the same as the past express models. Tho i noticed more plastic then the older models.
You're not going to find Wingmasters at Walmart............
All 870s are not near what they were. Better off buying a uses one dated before 1990. They did not ream the chambers correctly on most of the new ones and it causes lots of extraction problems along with ruining shells if your a loader. Also they had lots of wood problems with the stock cracking. The warranty on new 870 Express shotguns is only 2 years. I learned that the hard way. Remington took bankruptcy for a reason.................Defective barrels? In what way? WM or Express?
thanks.
When did this happen?Remington warranty is longer than that; they now offer a limited lifetime warranty
Stock is too small for me. LOP and overall fit.Does the stock not fit you on the Mossberg? If the Mossberg works and it's just the stock placement I would opt for a new stock over a new gun. By all means by the 870 if you just want a new shotgun but as others have stated the quality of Remington has slipped in current years and that's all around not just shotguns. If I was going for a brand new pump nowadays it's going to be a Mossberg.
