Yesterday my oldest son discovered he had a flat on his car, when he got off work at 5am. With all this Coronavirus stuff going on, his money situation is tight. I had him drop his car of at the tire shop and picked him up. Around 8am we went back to the tire shop. I told them I wanted two new tires because the other front tier was in bad shape. They said it should be ready by noon, they were shot handed.
We went back to the house and my son crashed in the spare bedroom. At around 10:30 the tire shop called and said the alignment on the car was off and the rear tires were worse then the front and that the flat tire was the best looking tire of all. I told them to do the alignment and put four new tires on.
At 11:30 I go the call the car was ready. I woke my son up and we went to the tire shop. When he saw his car in the parking lot, he said “What the hell, they put four new tires on my car”. I told him that I had them do it.
I was lucky that the tires were on sale for $109 and the total cost was under $800.
Now you may be asking yourself, what does a tire story have to do with buying gun related stuff. Well I hate having to spend money on things I don’t need. My son says he will pay me back, but still, it was money I had not planned to spend. But spending money on gun stuff always makes me feel good. So I drove over to the LGS where they had a used Century C93. The store owner is a friend and told me the guy he bought it from said it was a great shooter. It was priced $799. My friend said make an offer. I said $500 with a smile. He laughed and said he had more then that in the rifle. He said that he had $575 tied up in the rifle. I told him that I knew that used guns is where he made his money, and offered him $675, $200 today and I would pay it off in a week or two. He said deal.
After he rang it up and handed me the receipt I saw that the balance was $469.99. I asked if he made a mistake and he said no, just gave you a better deal.
Tax here is 10% so he sold me the rifle for $602.99. It helps to have friends with gun stores. Y
This is the same shop that I dropped off 1000 rounds each of 9mm and 5.56 when they had ran out the other week.
Here’s the pics I took at the shop. I’ll post more when I pick it up.
Oh! It did come with some extras.
