Bad tire day

Congrats on the new rifle, I'm very happy with my PTR91, sure you'll be with yours as well.
Aluminum, mags run better than steels one.
Shooting it along the FAL, M1A and AR10 it is a pure placer.
Btw, we will be never perfect using wife's eyes

hmmm...
4 tires at $109, that's $436. Mounting, balancing, and a 4 wheel alignment was $364? Is that a lifetime alignment at least? Did you get road hazard for that price as well?

The Mercedes part explains the price:), I just purchased 4 new "takeoffs" at an auction for $80, mounting and balancing was $100, those should last me for a few yrs, they still had the tits on the sidewall. Now I just need to purchase another gun.

My son called me from a local bar, him and a friend stayed there after lunch and had one too many and would I drive them home. I did. Got half way to the house and had a low pressure warning on left front on my F150. Then I got another warning on the left rear. Sure enough I had two flats. Then found out two flats and four holes. Each hole 180 degrees from the other. Two tires down. So I had to buy four of course. And then I went to the gun shop to make me feel better and got a used Mini 14. But it was the next day and not during a stay at home order. Gunny your a big softy.

Lifetime alignment, balance, road hazard, the works. Plus his car is a Mercedes and work on it ain’t cheap.

for the record, I'm a strong proponent of all of that. After one year where the wife working in the ironbound district (think shipping, industrial, plants, etc.) and she had no less than 6 punctures in a couple months time span, I'll never not get the works.

I’ll take stupid over liars and thieves any day of the week. I have preached that mantra to my kids since they were small about the two things I hate. I do however concede the point that stupid people are more likely to cause bodily harm, be it from texting and driving or playing with matches round a campfire.

Well, I decided to go and pick up the rifle today.
Here’s how it looked when I picked it up.

The scope is nothing special and the mount is made by NcStarView attachment 905017View attachment 905018

Here are the parts and mags that came with the rifle. The QD scope mount is by UTG.

I really didn’t care for the handrail that was on the rifle so, I put the original one on. It feels much better and lighter. I think I’m going to remove the camo finish and try something a little different.

Like the change

Right now I have it all apart and stripping all the paint off of it. Boy is there a lot of paint on this gun. And then it was covered with a clear coat.
I could go with a basic black when I’m finished, but how much fun would that be. I’m thinking a Riptile cammo pattern.

It does have a fluted chamber. The rounds I fired Friday looked pretty good and didn’t show marks from the fluting.
I understand the theory but it still seems an awfully silly and labor involved process to make that chamber. Cut a standard chamber and then broach it I would assume.

I ended up having to invest in a can of stripper for a 38 Super 1911 that came out that some prior owner had painted neon green. In places. With a paintbrush.
