I always air-dry them (overnight in a fan-breeze, along with the freshly-cleaned cases) before storing them in a re-purposed, heavy-clear-plastic "jar". IIRC, my 2 pins-containers started life filled with ground pepper.... Wondering how you guys store your pins between uses?
I store mine in the drum with the lid off. I’ll put a paper towel in the drum and work one side to the bottom so it will wick the moisture out. Seems to dry the chips faster then without, even though it’s probably not needed.. I think it’s more important to rinse the chips thoroughly than to dry them.
Mesh, no zipper...I don’t really do anything special but I did find some really heavy duty fine mesh zipper bags at a place called The Container Store. I am not sure what they were intended for but they hold 20 lbs of pins great.
And I’d often wondered just how many wind up blasted down range.I store mine in the cracks of my garage floor, in the living room carpet, down my slop sink drain, and in the bottom of my brass storage buckets.
I'm not sure I care if they rust. If they did, it would come off next batch.I've heard the pins can rust. Sounds like a few days in water would be ok?
