Whenever the reloading and ammo supplies increase again, the folks that got caught short this time will be clearing the shelves stocking up. I hope I'm wrong but I think it's going to be a long time before supply meets demand. The ridiculous prices of primers auctioned on GB are rising fast. I saw bids up to $330 for 1000 SPP today. I watched several auctions for 1000 SPP last week that got up to $180 then buyers took them at "buy it now" price of $250 plus $50 shipping/hazmat charges.I know I am just being stubborn but I refuse buy anything at the insanely inflated prices we are currently seeing. I mean .22 LR for $1.00 a round? I don't have a huge stockpile of ammo for sure but, I do have enough to meet my needs for hunting and some occasional recreational shooting for quite a long while.
If this thing plays out like other buying panics in the past, hopefully it will crash and, price/availability will return to a relative normal. I guess the question is when will it crash and how?
I've been looking at some of the primer auctions and I don't believe they are real bids. One seller has multiple primer
listings for 8x-10x retail. All his are showing those prices and bids. I'm willing to bet those bids are friends or family members jacking up the price. I'm also fairly confident most listings like that are not legitimate
. They are looking for one panicked buyer. True scum of the earth.
How about the buyer ships you cleaned deprimed brass and you return them primed brass? That would be legal.(snip) I have 5,000 Wolf small rifle primers I would like to sell but I can't legally sell them on GB. I need an explosives license to ship them. (snip)
This is silly. It is the buyer's choice how much they will pay and how badly they need the ammo. Free market ring any bells?
Deciding to pass on a high price IS free market.
Depends on your intent.
Buy for $40 and put on auction starting at .01 KNOWING you're gonna get $200 is gouging.
I got H335. 12 bucks a gram! Firms!
lol. I still have 9mm I reloaded the third quarter of 1999. I’d like to think times now are sorta like that but so many thing have no precedent. I grow worrisome

I'm hurting for SRP, as you might have guessed.

A private individual can ship ammunition - but not primers?

If this madness goes on for another 6+ months then I will be using my vacation time to go and visit a cousin in Boise. He's 5 hours away from the CCI/Speer plant in Lewiston ID. They do sell to the public and they do have a daily limit, but they will not sell on line nor will they ship. I can see that. To step on the toes of their distributors would be a bad thing.Whenever the reloading and ammo supplies increase again, the folks that got caught short this time will be clearing the shelves stocking up. I've recently bought 1500 plated Xtreme 158gr/125gr & Hornady XTP HP 125gr for 38/357. The Xtreme were about the same price as yours after free shipping. Been stocking up on powder (hp-38) too in case prices keep rising and availability decreases. I'll stop buying bullets and powder supplies when they exceed the primers I have on hand.Ordered 500 115gr plated 9mm Berry's Bullets on Wednesday $54.
