It’s not just ammo and components

Yes indeed.

There was a recent thread where one of our members was trying to locate some Hornady Lock n Load Bushings. Luckily, he found some in the Buy-Sell-Trade Forum because they are out of stock online.
I've seen the same for many other reloading items including presses.

This is not just limited to gun stuff. I've been waiting for some water tight electrical boxes for work for over a month now with not even a word on when they will be available. While I think the gun industry is more visible to us enthusiasts we are not alone. This should be a good reminder for us all to have at least a modest supply of consumables in the future.

Yes sir that’s a fact. I’m a construction worker. We’ve had trouble with treated lumber and such not to mention costs going way up. Our electricians have told me the same.

1 million new people are finally going to "finally get around to reloading"... 999,000 will never open the box, but won't sell it either "just in case". 999 will open the box, loose some stuff and try to push it for a profit based on "just wanting back what I got in it" on the used market after prices come back down, looking at Dillion to price out his Lee/Hornady equipment, and 1 will use the equipment. Same goes for components. Wildly exaggerated, but conceptually correct.

I was just cruizing thru ebay last night for nothing in particular and ended up in the presses category and was stunned to see used Lee Pro1000 presses with bids on them for over $350.00 and a bare new Lee Value Press at bid near $200.00, also an old Lee 3 hole press with a starting bid of $150.00

I have been looking for an RCBS 30cal bullet collet for my puller for 3 months.

I was thinking of Ebay for some of my dads old stuff that I have duplicated or just dont need to fund my trip. It's not exactly taking advantage but choosing the right time to purge... unfortunately I wont be there for a few more months so anything can change by then.

Yeah, who’d of thought anything 30-30 would be unobtanium? Cannot find a Lee factory crimp die anywhere. Resizing and seating dies weren’t much better. I found a used set just before deer season started. I had 3 Remington 150gr Core-Lokts left when I finally found those dies.

I'm looking forward to about August of '22, I'm thinking there's going to be quite a bit of barely used reloading equipment coming up for sale. In the meantime, its a mean time.

Yes, seems anything reloading related is gone. Basically nothing in stock on Lee's site. AR parts are scarce. Suppressors are pretty scarce.

Is that when you project shelf inventory will return...
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. have no empirical data to support that claim mind you. But I'm guessing there will be no movement on any gun control issues until after the mid terms...too many fish to fry right now. So barring any major national calamity (which is not a given) 18 months should be enough time for the supply chain to right itself. I'm hoping for about a 12 month window between the summer of '22 and the run up to the '24 election that things return to some semblance of normality. That's where I'm hoping the folks that bought reloading equipment that aren't really into it decide that all is well again and decide to dump their equipment. Gotta have hope anyway;)

It may be regional, too. I just had some roofing work done and the supervisor on site is a gun guy - pretty much everybody around here hunts something year round. We talked a little about shortages and he said they weren’t having problems getting wood or sealant but they know of people in Louisiana who can’t get R board or sealant. Louisiana isn’t that far away.

local shop that don’t sell online, I’ve had great luck!

The availability of many things are limited now. Walk down the electrical or plumbing isle at Lowe's or Home Depot, huge voids on the shelves. Covid has seriously effected production and supply for almost everything. We won't see normal again until the production and supply lines return to normal state.

I'm curious if the barter here will increase because of things that cant be found. There is literally nothing on the shelves now including bullets.
I traded 8400 SPP's for 8400 LRN 135 and 115 gr 9 mm projectiles. I had $.025 in the primers and the bullets are $.08 and $.06 ea so I think I did a good trade.
