Sales in January 2021 continued the increasing trend in the US.

https://kvia.com/news/business-tech...a-new-record-after-capitol-hill-insurrection/

The FBI said it conducted a record 4.3 million background checks in January. If that pace continues, the bureau will complete more than 50 million gun-related background checks by the end of the year, shattering the current record set in 2020, according to a new report from Bespoke Investment Group.

The NSSF, which cross references reported background checks with actual sales figures to come up with its more-accurate, adjusted gun sales data, said three of the top 10 weeks for FBI instant criminal background checks came last month.

Nothing like a Democrat winning the White House to skyrocket gun sales. Let them also win control of both houses and it is squared. Add a pandemic and rioting to cube the trend.

The surprise invasion from outer space this summer will boost it even higher! (laughing)

I've always been amazed at gun control advocates. The more they prattle on about taking away guns, the more guns are sold. You would think they would learn that if they just keep quiet then there would be fewer guns sold...and I would be able to buy ammo at a reasonable price.

just think of all those soon to be prohibited guns and the ones left that will be highly taxed to fund pet projects.

I have seen it happen at local gun stores. Looks like missing teeth on the gun racks. Mostly people I have seen are going for the staples - bolt action hunting calibers, levers and some AR's and the like.

Something interesting is February sales would likely pass January sales if there were any guns left to sell. :)

This is why I'm selling guns that I don't use/want anymore. It's the perfect time to unload guns at a great price with low inventory. Doing so affords me some money to finish collectable guns that I'm interested in, or new toys I want to try out.

I guess I should be called a "gouger" for waiting until inventory is low to sell my firearms at an all time high price relative to their normal value. :)

I am certain the liberals actually believe that Americans bought 2 million guns last month just so they could turn them all in to the Gubmint. They just don't seem to get it.......
You do realize the "left" are actually huge numbers of gun owners in this country. The biggest area where organizations like the NRA have missed the boat...If you think only conservatives buy guns you are sadly misinformed.

I like the way you think. However, I believe you're expecting too much of the antis. I personally don't expect them to "learn" much of anything. At least they haven't learned much since I've been aware they're out there...and that's been since shortly after JFK was shot.

I went to a lgs today just for the eye candy. They had a good complement of AR-15s and similar guns, no major empty spots on the handgun shelves - - - heck, they had a couple I would have liked to buy! Pretty good ammo supply, but were only selling 100 rounds to an individual. Perhaps they'd just received a shipment? I know other gun stores are hurting for ammo around here.

Interestingly I saw a Uberti made Winchester 1873 carbine. Very similar to one I own but mine has the saddle ring. This new one was marked ".44 special" on the barrel, but the tag had the caliber marked 44 magnum/44 spl. Oooooops. I don't think so ..... sorta feel bad if anyone tried to feed it .44 magnum, it would jam the elevator block (lifter).
I've seen no .44 Special anywhere.
There was also a 1873 rifle in .357 magnum. Nice, but I'm suspicious of magnum chambered 1873 toggle-link rifles in magnum caliber. YMMV.

Don't tell them their current strategy is working perfectly, for us.

I'm not really surprised at the higher numbers, it's happened many times. Just hope the new owners take a stand to keep their guns free of more impingement.

And the biggest voting block BY FAR is the unaffiliated center..Nothing turns off potential new gun owners more than being called names..

Never happen. They missed their chance when we were unprepared. Now we have the space force. Lol

I have been a buyer my whole life. Occasionally I'd trade. But never sold. Now I guess I'm a gouger too. They just werent worth what people are paying. And are glad to pay it.

They aren't stupid. Anyone high enough to have a say in the matter is well aware of the correlation between threatened legislation and gun sales. It just doesn't matter to them because at the end of the day most people will either turn them in or bury them so deep they may as well be useless.

I've been amazed at the number of liberals, socialists, and full-on self-identified communists in this country that have become 1st time gun owners in 2020. There's various reasons that I don't entirely agree with that lead them to become gun owners, but all the same gun rights organizations need to stop pushing those people away with their politics. This shouldn't a be Democrat/Republican or Liberal/Conservative issue, because there are plenty of people on the left that support gun ownership. The problem is they aren't always single issue voters so they often compromise on gun rights to get a politician who will push for other issues they are more passionate about. If the NRA was more welcoming, perhaps that could change.

Well, while I don't disagree with what you are saying, I must observe that most of the more onerous antigun laws being proposed, or those already enacted, have been proposed/enacted by the left. Sorry. I must conclude that either left-wing gun owners are clueless about the threats to their gun ownership, or they clearly have other supposedly higher priorities.

Neither option really endear them to me ..... but then, I'm a rather ornery critter when politics is considered.
