I see a lot more posts about powder being available than primers or brass. It seems like a few folks are having a hard time getting bullets they need but mostly people either need primers or powders. What do you need and if you could trade locally with another forum member, what would you offer? For me, I've got plenty of large rifle primers for trade and I'm okay on all my favorite powders but I'm low on small pistol primers.

I need large pistol, I have plenty of SPP because I was planing on being a world champion pistol shooter in 1 summer.

I blame CooFlu

When things go sideways I just shift to a different caliber to reload and shoot when supplies of a certain item are drawn down. This tends to spread my stock widely and keep me from digging too deep into one particular pile. I planned for at least a 5 year disturbance this time around. After that I will slow down my standard usage as needed. Thank goodness I had the space and cash to stock up.

I’m shoot more rifles now because it takes less primers

I don't especially need anything, but after (if?) things settle down I'm going to add another big keg of Unique and a few more pistol primers. The trouble, for me, is that no matter how much I have on hand I don't want to use any of it because I don't know when I will be able to replace it. Even though I already have a few years' worth of stuff, I just don't enjoy burning it up right now. I probably would have to have a couple lifetimes' worth before I felt okay about using it.

For the most part, I'm pretty good. I've been thru all this before a few times. After Sandy Hook, I vowed never to be caught short again. I just started hitting the largest reloading shop in the state(Jays, Clare and Gaylord locations) once a month and leaving with 200 bux worth of stuff I didn't know I needed.
That has certainly paid off, with exception of when I pick up one hand cannon or another. Even then, I'm pretty much covered except I might not have a wide selection of bullet weights to try

I’m solid right now. I’m still working but getting close to retirement. That will increase my available shooting time and I’m hoping by then some of these shortages will have abated.

Course, results of the mid term elections will factor into if the craziness keeps on going.

I've been able to stay involved with several different local places, and my current job allows for some freedom to watch the interwebs during the hours. I've done fairly well staying up with everything except 7.62x39 brass...its pretty elusive.

Berger 6MM 105 Gr Hybrids, got caught short, but do have a bit over 500 now.

CCI-450 primers, only 500+ left. I do have options there though, plenty of SR primers.

I made a couple mistakes that led to my shortages.
- I bought an SMLE with no 303 components or dies at all. I coaxed 20 PPU rounds out of a range member in exchange for 454 Casull rounds. No other 303 brass anywhere. Why? Does someone think they fire fast enough to be full auto?
- I decided to stay loading for 7.62x39. D#$$# THR made me but a Ruger American Ranch and it wants good ammo. It shoots Wolf well, but now I want more. I had brass, thought I had dies, but ended up paying 20% more than normal.
So I am OK but light on bullets and good brass for these. I can load a bunch of different things instead, but you know...
