Going to look at a uniflow powder measure. wondering if I can use these on the die plate and not the stationary hole on a pro 2000.
I have a uniflow that came in the Pro 2000 kit but want to set up for 9mm and 223 without doing anything but swapping die plates.
What is the uniflow and RC IV worth?
Uniflow just has one cylinder and I don’t know which one.
 
One more option I’m considering is double jamb nuts and screwing a pre adjusted uniflow down against the double jamb nuts. So I could use either powder measure in the stationary home without adjustments and changing bushings.
 
FWIW, I have two Pro 2000 die plates with dedicated case activated dies, expanders, etc.. One is set up with dies for 9mm and one for 45 ACP. When I change calibers, I just move the Uniflo from one to the other.
 
Nope. The die on each plate is adjusted one time to set the PTX for proper expansion of that caliber and then locked down. The Uniflow just moves back and forth between die plates as needed.

Yes, you could use it on a single stage if you wanted to. RCBS even sells powder through expanders so you can move it from #3 to #2, for your 9mm.
 
Ok guys I’m not wording my question well at all.
I now own 2 uniflow powder measures. I want to set it be up for 223 and the other for 9mm. I want to use them on the same pro2000 press.
Instructions say put the powder measure on the stationary hole. That means it wouldn’t come off with the die plate.
Trying not to change bushings and adjustments for caliber changes.
 
If you have two complete measures, you can put them in #2 if you wanted or use a lock ring that can be locked in place, so you do not loose your adjustment.

Either of these would allow you to “lock in” your adjustment but also remove and replace the measure or any of the dies for that matter, back to the same spot.

As I said above RCBS sells the powder through expanders for the sole purpose of allowing people to move the measure to #2.

The uniflow is pretty darn easy to adjust. Putting it in the die holder might make clearance issues with the linkage and the die heads.
Having five die holders allows you to use a powder checker which is always a nice way to prevent squibs and double charges.

Thank you. That’s one of the questions I have been wondering about.
Can I use the same cylinder for 223 and 9mm?
that’s me of my reasons for wanting two different uniflow.
I do have a powder cop and plan to use it when I get this set up.

I load 9MM, 38 SPL and 45 ACP and .223 with the same cylinder/drum. You do need to change the part that interacts with the case neck. Forgot the bushings name. Easy adjustment.

Simple answer is yes, you can use them on the die plate OR the stationary hole. Your choice.
