Gun Manufacturers, if any of you are reading this......

To Sig: hey really like your 365, even if I was one of your beta testers back in 2018 and had to get it rebuilt after a class and only 975 rounds. I get it, it’s small and when you cram that much much awesomeness into a a new micro class of 9mms growing pains happen. All is forgiven and I bought another one just last year. But the grip module is flimsy and I keep dropping mags or the slide stop is engaged and the slide locks back when it shouldn’t. How about offering different size grips like the 320/250 series? I know you offer the X/XL grip, have use it and big fan. But a larger diameter and a tad more polymer would be nice.

To Glock: I know change is hard, but you are on the right track with the 43X/48. You don’t seem to mind offering a new magazine platform with them. So let’s transfer that over to the 43 and get that 7/8 round mag for them going. Cause have you seen the Ruger Max9 or Taurus GX4? Ruger and Taurus have literally left you in the starting gate, with Sig near the finish line. You can’t bank you future on government contracts. Others are just as good and will cut their cost to beat you out. My first suggest to your R&D department is to merge a 43 slide to a 26 frame, AND DONT LENGTHEN THE GRIP! Let loose of some of that polymer bulk and embrace metal. Little more metal lined, little less polymer coating.

To the rest manufacturers: Please don’t be scared to offer smaller calibers in the micros and pocket pistols. A lot of internet ninjas won’t buy them and say some nasty things about them, but real world users (those without tactical flannel or tattoos) will buy them. They might show their full-size pistol with RDS and Surefire on their belt in pictures, but they are sticking a snubbie in their pocket the rest of the time. Sure they will say “what’s the use” in their reviews, but real world users will be asking “when can we get one!”

And to the rest of you, make your damn sights easier to swap out!

To SW: j frame + 32 caliber = Love.

To Ruger: SP101 frame, but in lightweight alloy. Add steel cylinder, and real sights. Yeah, you have the polymer framed LCR, but let’s get real and go alloy. And don’t be afraid to put a half lug on the damn barrel! And let’s get some REAL boot grips for the LCR, not the stubby rubber monstrosity Hogue is making for it now. And the part about offering smaller calibers in your pocket pistol, read that twice! The LCP would be a great platform for 32/25. And if you have to put a safety on the LCPII, make it a real one or make it ambidextrous.

Carry on.....

I think about this all the time. If I had an extra $2-3M, I would partner with a Turkish mfg and start The .32 Hangun Co.

- all new designs, just for 32, in poly semi and aluminum frame revolver.
- the “32 P24/7/365” would go up against the micro9s, but with 20 rounds in the grip. Would have 4” barrel
- 32 Handgun Co branded 7.65 Euro 32 maxed-out 225 ft pound ammo
- revolvers would have short cylinders and frames to match the ammo
- 8 rounds in a carry snub

The ladies would go crazy over these little things, and of course, modern and sensitive 32-shooting men such as I would be there to show them how to shoot and compliment them on the way their hair sniffs.

You dog! And now my newest personal hero!

I would also like to thank every gun manufacturer that includes the wonderful feature of a magazine disconnect safety, and for those of you that don’t have this feature….PLEASE at least put a reminder on the firearm itself that it will fire with the magazine removed.

Coming from a family of LEOs, I remember way back in the middle 80s that all the gun rags praised the new third generation of SWs for coming out with this. Even read the same lone incident where an LEO was in a scuffle and hit his mag release and when the thug tried to shoot him with his own duty pistol and couldn’t. Then the same LEO pulled his backup pistol and was jumped by a second thug which the LEO hit its mag release and both thugs were pointing the weapons at the LEO and nothing happened.

My older cousin, Trooper at the time, said if the guy would spend more time getting his head out of ass and looking around he wouldn’t have to learn magazine-fu! Still find that funny to this day.

And here Glock is sitting in the corner waiting on Shield to make higher capacity magazines for their piss poor attempt at Slim Lines.

Imo, Glock blew it.

They could of just trimmed a small amount of the excessive fat out of the 19 & kept the same mags and called it a day with arguably a better product in the end.

Call it 19S(slim). Done. Would only take a simple and cheap mould modification.

Shave a tiny bity bit of the portly slide with a CNC tweak.

Call it 19ST (slim&trim). Done

Same with the 26 and others.

The back strap is joke of a evolution. Gives you an option of keeping the portly 2x4 grip or adding more to achieve a rotund 2x4.5 grip.

While major brands are developing new pistols with a thumb safety option, Glock continues to ignore that market share.

Great pistols though.

There is a gun manufacturer that makes 1911s and a few years back they started listening to their customers. After a while they were offering so many different 1911s that their quality control started to suffer. They started getting a bad rep. And decided to get things back on track. They ended up dropping over half of the different verification of their 1911s and picked up their quality control. The manufactur was Kimber.
What the customer wants is not always a good thing for a company. But that’s not to say that you shouldn’t send them a letter, or email with your ideas.

My brother and I bankrupted our landscape company that way... trying to be everything to everyone, we wound up doing nothing but screwing ourselves.

As much as I like Kimber, I fear they are on the path to destruction, again, with all these crazy pistols they are kicking out... boutique pistols instead of solid, quality firearms.

There so many guns on my list to buy I can’t even keep track of them in my head so it is hard for me to think of anything else I would like to see manufacturers put to the market. Off the top of my head, I wouldn’t mind seeing Ruger come out with some Linebaugh maybe JRH offerings in their Blackhawk line…..yeh..that would be alright with me..:D

@DeepSouth

I just called em what they are, free spinner targets.

Dear keltec,
Thank you for being nuts, and not just making "glock killers" ars and 1911s, also, metal lowers are ok, I promise.

Dear chiappa,
Thank you for being nuts also. Get rid of the seam on the rhino.

Who are the internet ninjas?
How do you know they don't carry what they say?

I don't have tactical flannel (too hot here in FL for regular flannel) nor do I have any tattoos.
I don't have a RDS or Surefire on my carry guns, although both have merit.
I've not carried smaller primary than a Glock 19/23/32 size pistol in over 3 years, despite that I live in a ̶g̶o̶o̶d̶ excellent area.
I'm retired and my loose fit shirt is happily chronically untucked which affords easy concealment of a Glock 19/23/32 size pistol.
Walking the dogs, shopping, errands, out to eat, casual 5 mile bicycle ride, wherever, Glock 32 on my belt.
If I had to defend myself, I'd prefer a Glock 32 in hand rather than a "snubbie" (which I have but never carry) and that doesn't change with location.
I don't know about other people, I do what I say; but, I'm not a tactical flannel wearing tattooed ninja.

Thanks for sharing. Seems you have what works for you. Plus the lovely state of Florida to boot! Jealous!

To Ruger

Here is one that I have been thinking of, take the 77/44 and rechamber it for 5.7 x 28. The oal of 5.7 is just a tiny bit less than 44 mag so that fit isn't an issue. I have a rifle in 22 tcm, but I am thinking that 5.7 x 28 is a better way to go. Further, if I had the rifle, I would be quick to get the pistol too.

North American Arms, please make a Mini 22mag in single/ double action with a trigger guard.

I like that idea a lot. I do have a NAA 22lr but I'm not much of a DA in general mainly because I'm not good with them.

Probably need to scale it up a little just to fit a trigger guard big enough to fit a finger in.

I could envision a tiny 7 shot SA/DA with trigger guard. I'd probably buy that.

Include it with a top break open or swing arm open.... that would be pretty sweet.

Heck, I'd probably buy either of those just in SA.

I think manufacturers should make it a point that if they're going to add one ambi control, be it ambi this or reversible that, then make ALL controls fully ambidextrous or reversible, otherwise they're just half-assing it and there's no point.

Example 1: My Hellcat has a reversible mag release but the slide release is for righties only. Huh??
Example 2: My AR is left-eject and had a left-hand safety, but the bolt catch and mag release were for righties only. I had to get the lower machined for an ambi bolt catch, and the ambi mag release was a cinch to do on my own. I realize the gun was built to an affordable price point, but was this compromise absolutely necessary?

This exactly.

But them many people would complain about the price increase and not buy the guns.
You must remember that the only way for a company to stay in business is by making a profit. A lot of times it’s not that the manufacturers are not listening. They just can’t make everything that everyone wants and make a profit.

Add me to the .32 ACP Ruger LCP list.

I have a Taurus TCP in .32 ACP. Different barrel, different magazine, slide machined differently, etc., compared the TCP .380.

If Taurus could do it, Ruger certainly could. I'd buy a LCP .32 for my grown daughters and my wife. Plus another for me. That would make for 4 guns sold immediately.

Then the word would spread how much easier this little gun is to shoot compare to a .380, with more power and reliability than a .22LR out of a short barrel.

how about a magazine for the G36? 8 rounds staggered would be about right.

Unfortunately, the Glock 36 mag is already a center feed semi-staggered design.

It would seem the only way to increase capacity would be to install full double stack mags while increasing grip width, but Glock already makes the G30.

That leaves mag extensions for the 36, like offered by Hyve.

I wonder how sales of the little NAA Ranger II are going and whether or not they might make a good platform for .32ACP? A shorter cylinder than .22WMR in a top-break with at least some close-in punch? It might be kind of interesting.

NAA attempted a 32 HR magnum prototype. It was quite ugly, expensive to make and NAA ditched it. The 22s fit the smaller market quite well, so I think they have decided not to increase the caliber of their revolvers.

Tried the Hyve extension and was pleased with it.

Want just a tad more grip on the G36. Too much for me to pinky tuck and too little for a full grip for me. I think of it as a polymer Commander!
