Random Gun Pics...let’s see how random we can make it

Was that photo taken aboard the USS Texas at the San Jacinto Battleground State Park?

Yes, Good eye. Mount 53 circa 2011 around when I made my last artifact donation trip to her. Only other place to see a casemated ship-board 5" 51 is USS Olympia (not sure if any of the displayed subs retained theirs). From memory a 55# shell at ±3000fps and around 18,000 yards range.

Ethiopia’s Republican Marching Band using SKS rifles this past weekend for a formal ceremony.

Gunny

I think you're right about that being a Mk.II as I believe that the Mk.III had an adjustable rear sight while the Mk.II had fixed sights. Made by Dan Wesson for High Standard, they were available with 2 1/2", 4", and 6" barrels.

My personal favorite for close quarters/dignitary protection details in vehicles; H&K Mp5-K PDW:
Eh, not my very favorite, but one of them, for sure! With those diopter sights, better accuracy than most people would think. We swapped out our MP-5s as entry weapons for carbines in 300 Blackout. But I will always maintain an great affection for those German guns! For those that own one, I'm envious. Undeniable cool factor...

Black rifles

Now there's one you don't see all that often: a Colt Metropolitan Mk.III! Made for just a couple of years, it was only available in .38 Special and with a 4" heavy barrel. Definitely passes the random test!

My .450 Bushmaster AR build that I built as a camping/hiking/off-roading carbine and then decided it was too heavy and bulky. So I stripped off the optics, light, and sling for it's replacement; a Henry Black in .45 Colt.

Below it is my Glock Gen 4 G23 with a Glock OEM suppressor barrel.

Both weapons are firearms that I love and work wonderfully, but are just lightly outclassed by other choices. They are close 2nd place firearms that I just can't get rid of.
