S&W Model 29-9 Heritage Series made by thr Performance Center in 2001. Only 176 exist and they're literally the final N-Frames to every leave S&W without the lock.

It’s a Benelli B76 9mm. A very cool and unique pistol.

DR in 8X57J (rimless .318 bore) by P Reeb, House Gunmaker to Kaiser Wilhelm II, circa 1916.

Thanks! I guess I made a good guess, Italian lines. I never even knew Benelli made pistols! I just know them from Shotguns. Really interesting looking gun.

Yes. I bought several thousand rounds years ago (30) at a very attractive price. They were kept in ammo cans.

Now you have me wondering when the last time someone waited to cut screw slots until after they knew how they would be clocked tightened?

Either shimmed, or they have an inner shoulder which could be shaved until they clocked true, I'm guessing. Alternatively, the receiving hole shoulder/ step could be drilled deeper as needed.

Either of those would also affect height, that looks more like craftsmanship than shim to fit.

I would have guessed they were larger than they are now when first installed and the method used to tighten them was removed as they were brought down level with the surface, then the slot was created, along with the art work.

That's the way I understand it is done. Screws are tightened down with a fair amount of material on the "head". Witness marks are struck and the head is ground and screw slots are cut to reflect.
