Hi.
Well I was just wondering how much you guys put into your gun (money wise) for add-ons and such.
I was just looking through the web and realized there are people that put a great amount of money and time into there gun....

Well just a random thread I guess but hey go for it :D
also post pic's of it if you can so we can all see your creation :) ..

Thanks..

I find that putting a large amount of money into a gun is a learning experience for me. My biggest learning experience cost me about 3500+ before I was done.

Colt ban-era 6920. Don't remember what I paid for it, don't want to. Sold it during a time of financial hardship. Eventually bought a similar-model Bushmaster that's treated me just as well for much less money. Lesson learned.

Wow, I guess I'm a cheapskate. I think the most I've spent on any one firearm would be about $550-600. But I like to buy dirt cheap "project guns" and used stuff and old mil-surp.

Eventually I want one super-nice BBQ gun in 10mm. Don't know if I'll ever part with the scratch to do it though.

Several in the $1500-$2500 range.......but it's the bottomless sinkhole 10/22 that got out of control. Excuse me while I go have my head examined.

Plenty, but it's worth every penny to me if you're not happy with the current firearm and there is no factory offering for what you want. This one is probably my favorite.

this thread REALLY needs to involve pictures. and for me, i'm a newb so about $400, possibly $600 if i decide to scope out the single six.

Well, 1800 dollar sticker price (2002), then...jeez...
550 for the first installment of sights, 100 for a trigger shoe, 80 for a handstop, 125 for the first bloop tube (DON'T EVER buy a bloop tube from Neal Johnson!), 85 for the second that I'm currently using, 135 for a rear iris, -100 when I sold that, 185 for the current rear iris, -120 when I sold my first front sight, 55 for the current front sight, 3x15 for the front apatures I have, 2x25 (I think) for sunshades for the front, 55 for spirit level, 40 for the long rear riser block, 15 for the front riser block, I think the other rear riser is 40, I'm borrowing the stabilizer rod, 25 bucks for the colored sight adjustment knobs, 155 for a sight track (super long sun shade for rear sight), 120 for my scope (BSA Platinum target), 20 for wood putty, 25 bucks for scope rings, 15 for a red bolt knob, and the super expensive milk carton occluder :D.

So that's...3500 total, 1700 in mods.

Now you can't even get a 2013 for 3500 new. Darn Euro!

Wow, nice delta. I have a real weakness for 10mm's. YoBo?

Actually, the Ted Yost part of YoBo. It took a while, but he did exactly what I wanted. The first barrel didn't fit to his satisfaction, so there was an extra 4 month wait time for completion. It took that long to get another Schuemann AET barrel.

I have about $1500 in a Custon .308 built on an old Sako action, with Shilen barrel and HS precision stock. I also have about $1800 in the Schmidt & Binder scope on it, so all told, about:

$3300! Give or take $100.

The most I've spent has been in the $1700 range  but I'm still trying to justify an Ed Brown 1911 or even a gas pistol AR that'll push me over $2000 :scrutiny:

I put about $2500 into a Beretta 682 about 10 years ago. Then turned right around and sold it a year later because I found that I liked my Browning 425 better.

Thus far, I have about $500.00 sunk into a 10/22 that was free.... Still haven't even shot the damn thing yet!

The most I have in a single firearm is the $1600 or so that I have sunk into an AR-10 build. Most of my firearms seem to nudge the grand mark but never really get much over that.
