question/ problem with new 1911

Despite popular belief, Gages are not perfect and no guarantee that my reload will match the new chamber. (Shop tolerance chart attached)
I would compare the radial dimensions a factory round to a reloaded round. Maybe the older brass has been shot in an overspec chamber ( maybe range pick up brass) and just developed memory that the dies cannot overcome.

OK, OP can test the barrel with factory rounds.

If factory rounds do not fully chamber in the barrel, a call to customer service is required.

Tough call. Factory ammo works, reloads do not, and what does every owner’s manual tell us will void the factory warranty? I can agree the chamber is cut close to minimum dimensions, which aids in accuracy, and if it were mine I’d prefer to load my own.

I’ve cleaned up a few chambers that were rough but do not recommend anyone else jump in without some experience and a means of measuring.

No, I do not believe OP tried factory ammunition and why several members suggested trying factory ammunition, including me.

My previous post was in response to South Prairie Jim who posted that cage gauges are "not perfect" and I took that as resized brass passing SAAMI maximum gauge but not passing SAAMI minimum barrel chamber so to test the barrel with factory round.

If factory round do not pass the barrel, then a call to customer service is necessary to enlarge the chamber.

But we haven't heard back from the OP whether factory round has been tested in the barrel so we wait.

Correct, I should have made it clearer in my post with “If”. I too suggested trying factory ammo. Thank you, LL, apologies for my confusing post.

I colored the whole thing with a sharpie and put it in the chamber and rotated it around the best i could, and it looks like all the jams are because of the base of the cases. I cannot reach the base with my resizing dies, but they fit the case gauge.
I even just took some random empty clean cases, resized them, case gauge perfect, and just dropped the empty cases into the barrel, and no good.
so I will contact SA.

Are you using a lee factory crimp die?
