Staple guns for the range.

I use an arrow t50 myself. It was my dad's. One of only a couple things I have of his.

I also use pushpins, when the stapler is forgotten.

My buddy comes down unprepared sometimes. I'll go back to the range and there be paper plates, napkins, what ever, masking taped or scotch taped to the backer.

I paint my staple guns (and all my range equipment) with a VERY bright, very ugly, very distinctive paint job, and add my name and phone number with a paint pen.

I have yet to loose a stapler at the range since adding this embellishment due to backing over it with the truck, leaving it in the grass by the targets, or having it walk away in somebody else's rang bag because it was similar to theirs.

Here at the house I have old JT-21’s that are perfect for the job.

I keep a Powershot in my range bag but that’s more because of the plastic case keeping the staples from getting everywhere.

Might have to look into a suitable container for the little one and staples though as they take up a lot less space.

Might still keep my old ones home though as they don’t cost much but I bet they have moved production from New Jersey by now.

I forgot my staple gun this week when I went to the range. I didn’t realize how crappy other staple guns are. This is the Arrow T-50p. Made in the USA. I looked at their website and they are made in china now. :(Just wanted to show off my staple gun.

Those tend to shed parts if used roughly on job sites. I always keep the spare parts kits on hand, pins, C-clips, etc.

Thats the same one that I use. It belonged to Grandpa and is probably 50 years old. Its stapled many a target, and probably some building insulation.

My dad's stapler is probably 50 years old. I'm 38, and he had it before I was born. He was an electrician and used it there. I have had it since, well since I was 5 when he passed away. When my house burnt, it was in the barn and is one of only a couple things I have that was his. I also have his zippo, it was in my pocket.

I kept my old T50 in my range bag for awhile, but I got tired of needing to grab my range bag every time I needed staple something around the house and then inevitably I'd head to the range without it!

So I moved the T50 back to the garage and picked up this Dewalt for the range bag, been using it for a couple years now. I love how light it is and the belt clip is handy when I'm walking out to the 100 and 200 yard backstops when my hands are full of targets. For how crappy a lot of other staplers are this one seems pretty good. It's as easy to use as the forward strike type, but hasn't given me any misfires yet.

How many have taken their target & stapler to walk down 100 or 200 yds to find you only have one or two staples in your stapler? If you have 1 or 2 staples in the target when your staples run out, that target will be gone with the wind by the time you walk back to retrieve more staples. So what do you do? You could trear off the target walk back & come back with a fulll stapler. Or you could risk it & hope the wind will be merciful on you. LOL
What I do is use the Surebonder All in 1, it's a stapler that can use just about any staple. So if I get my target half the way up & run out, I just pull out one of the other loose staples in the backboard, put in the gun to finish the job.
No more lost targets, no more wanking back for more staples.

The stapler can take up to a 9/16 long staple because the width of it doesn't matter (to a limit) they sit off to the side to allow it to take almost any staple.

I have one of those T50 bottom-feeders. Two actually. I left one in some canyon out in the bush for a couple years. Bought another one. Then I found the first one walking my dog one day. Still works well.

I just wish there was a good revolver model. Everybody's obsessed with "high capacity" and fast reloads.

I've been known to use my leatherman to make staples work for makeshift target use. It flat sucks running out of staples!

Ive got a couple Arrow T50s...... tho if your foolish enough to let me borrow yours......I might end up with a new one or three by the end of a range session.
