I just can not see anyone walking around all day long with a hand in their pocket on their pistol. I drive, open and close doors, push a cart, grab groceries, put groceries on the checkout belt, put groceries in my car, etc. I am at the bank filling out withdraw slips, signing stuff, or counting money. I am at a park playing and interacting with children. I am sitting down at a restaurant or movie theater. I am doing yard work or in my drive way working on my vehicle. I am at work picking things up, doing paper work, and typing on a keyboard. I am carrying box(es) into a Fedex or UPS hub to be shipped.... So on and so forth. Even if I do one handed task like pump gas, I usually do it with my dominant hand, and I would keep my carry weapon on my dominant side. There's just no way that I can fathom that someone who is productive can walk around all day with their hand gripping their gun most of the time. Most of the time when I leave my home it's to do something. Most of the time that "something" involves me using my hands.
Also, even with your hand in your pocket gripping your gun, you can not whip it out until after a law has been broken aka they already got the drop on you. If you see a man or group of suspicious looking men walking down the street, you can not draw on them until after they try and rob you. That is, they already have a weapon pointed at you. I can assure you that in my experience, the first thing they are going to go for is your pockets. If you are on the ground in George Zimmerman like wrestling like match for your life, getting to your pocket gun is going to be slower and more difficult. If you are crotched down or sitting, getting to a pocket gun is going to be more difficult.
Pocket carry is not for me. I don't like things weighing down my pocket, and I am confined to only being able to carry a mouse or micro gun. That or have HUGE oversized pockets with a 1 and a half to 2lb+ gun and holster combo in my pocket all day long. With that said, pocket carry has it's place. Every form and method of carry has it's pros and cons. My only beef is with those who are claim that pocket carry is just as fast, and those not being realistic about the cons of pocket carry.
