Lighter and thinner than a 642 with one more round? Sure I'll take a chance.

Bought this from Buds a week ago.

Grips are way too oversized so they will have to be replaced.

I tried measuring with my calipers but couldn't get accurate measurements. 642 cylinder on left.

A very interesting alternative to the J and at $380 shipped I just had to try it. What's really neat is that the Charter fits every holster I have for the 642, even the Galco ankle glove with retention strap. Although I originally planned this to be a fun/curiosity gun I suppose it could replace my 642 if proven reliable.

Time will tell if that happens and its up to Dillon, Midway, and Starline before I can get some ammo together. I've also got some white pearl banana grips on order from Altamont.

Can't wait for the range report blue32. I've got one on order, waiting to be shipped. Got some 32mag from Midway and some 32S&W long at a small local shop just so I have some brass until Starline ships the back-orders.

I'm really interested in hearing your review of this gun. Fit and finish as well as D/A trigger pull. Right now my girlfriend has my LCR .327 but I'd like to try the Undercoverette as an alternative.

Nice purchase. My wife has one. I think hers is a five shot. It goes bang every time and it's as accurate as the shooter. It's pleasant to shoot, good for plinking or snubby practice. 32 magnum is supposed to be comparable to 38 special for SD.

I've been carrying (off and on) older Undercover revolvers for decades. They are indeed a bit thinner than the J-frames. One of them was my BUG on the job back in the eighties; another was my dad's, made the same year in which I was born.

My most-recent acquisition is an Undercoverette from maybe around 1971 in .32 Long. It even came with a box of ammo, six rounds of which had clearly been stored in the gun.

Thanks for sharing. Enjoy it. :)

Is the frame cast stainless or alloy? It looks great with the wood!

If the Charter Arms website is accurate, the frame is "7075 Aluminum". Assuming they mean the cylinder frame is aluminum and the grip frame is polymer. https://charterfirearms.com/collections/undercoverette/products/73220-undercoverette-ss-std

It's small, light, holds 6, low priced, and may not withstand a high round count. Seems like a typical pocket gun. :)

What the heck*, I just ordered one through a local gun dealer as I've been looking into 6 or 7 shot pocket revolvers for some time. :ninja:

*Call me a hypocrite, I'm okay with that this time.

The Charter 6 shot 32 H&R aluminum frame Undercoverette is on my , to get list .. I actually ordered two .. both came in with steel frames
Both returned …
32 H&R is a lower pressure round …little recoil.. out of my LCR327 , similar to a 38spl LWC out of my LCR357

Let us know if Charter has fixed the sights yet or not. One of the biggest complaints about the Charter Arms 32 H&R revolvers was that the sights are way off from the factory. The sight issues is what has kept me from buying one.

We will see if it’s true but from what I was told is that the initial batch of Black and SS guns had these issues. The current on the market batch is supposed to have addressed this issue and they all seem to be SS as well. A month ago there was no Professionals on the market unless used. The one I ordered was from the new batch. Got my fingers crossed!

I have to apologize to you it seems your post was kind of hijacked. I am really looking forward to your range report. As you can see there are more than a few of us here looking to expand our horizons into the .32 caliber guns. Not just for shooting but reloading as well. So if your post got a bit off track I will accept full responsibility!

I share responsibility for the hijack, too. Too much anticipation on my part.

Beats having a thread have no responses and ending up on page 2 on the first day, IMO. ;)

I bought one of those last year, and changed out the hammer. Easy peasy.

You changed it out for a spurless hammer? Were you able to get that from CA? I ask because I'd like to do that to my SP101 but Ruger requires that they do the fitting - cost starts at $200.
