Had to get rid of a 376 Steyr because of the violent kick. This was built on a mauser VZ 24 receiver.. What is the recoil on either round you are considering?
Update:
gunsmithing is done, headed to the stock maker

Love it!!! Quick question though is the brake built-into the barrel or is it removable?
Without going back all 10 pages, Nos or PRC? What twist rate?Removable

Update:
At the last minute the custom stock maker, with whom I’ve had multiple emails and phone calls to coordinate this project, decided he didn’t do stock work for Mausers. Disappointing.
Moving on, I’m giving consideration to getting a 95% stock and finishing it myself
I found a stock I like but here’s the problem. Being a single shot it doesn’t have standard bottom metal, which this stock is inletted for

One idea would be to source a blind magazine bottom metal that would fill the hole and trim the mag well to clear the action.
Or I could keep searching for custom stock maker as was the original plan
And what a stock! Very nice!I found a stock I like
Where did you get the stock it's pretty much what I want for my build
I'm 99% sure there Richard micro fit stock looking at some others, there's a Unique thumb hole Richards makes and this guy has some. Prices seem to be doubled on what you can buy from Richards.I haven’t bought it yet. Found it on EBay. The guy makes them himself. He has several.
His user name is Kjs95982

The one you pictured is the same on I have on my 7x57ai 09 Argentine, tho it was cut with the Optional higher comb can't remember the grade Carlo but the stock was under a $100 it had some sap wood and it was taken off when I finished it. I have to call and see what they got, my 9.3will be a German/ American style so I may go with this one again. If you know a ffl you can get 20%, and they have blems often that can still be nice like mine or If its just for a old sporter.Oh really!
His description makes it sound like he’s doing it himself
That’s some good info

Get some wood puffy fill her up, sand her down and spray paint the whole mess a nice flat blue.
I think most bad reviews are from people not realizing what there getting into. With a few proper tools you can finish them pretty quick. If there's a flaw in the wood that was hidden there pretty good about replacing it.I have this Fajen stock I picked up for another Mauser project but I don’t think it’s fancy enough for this build.

I’m glad to hear that @LoonWulf and @troy fairweather have had good luck with Richards Microfit stocks. I keep reading mixed reviews on them. I’m willing to give it a try. A phone call won’t cost anything
