not to be blunt, but I'd be curious what Ruger has to say, not what you think Ruger might say. They'll say what they always say. Send it in. Ruger builds a pretty good product for the price. They have good repair service and turn around time. They'll usually send you a shipping ticket also. One has to realize however that their business model isn't to build the best in the industry, just good enough. Some others have gone down that road also. S&W revolvers comes to mind. I don't buy any of those built after 1970 because of quality issues.
If I wanted a better quality SAA I'd probably buy an Italian knock off.
The old saying, you get what you pay for is appropriate here.
I don't think it's the Ceracote in the barrel. Probably the sights or the barrel is canted. I have a Taurus revolver with a canted barrel. Not worth the time or money to fix it.
I had a Ruger 77 rifle that I sent back because of accuracy issues. They replaced the barrel but it didn't improve the 4 MOA accuracy. I sold it and took the hit.
Wait hold on, you think a Ruger Wrangler is craftsmanship? It's a mass produced starter gun. You should give up on that gun right now and find a better sub $200 gun with better accuracy.
And this is nothing like a new car with overspray on the windshield.. It's exactly like a new car with overspray on the tread of the tires. It will wear off.

I think its ridiculous the excuses fanboi's will make on behalf of a manufacturer who sprayed cerakote into the bore of a new gun.
Look, if you think 4" groups 5" low with a cerakoted bore is acceptable, buy my gun. $200 shipped. Put your money where your mouth is.What's ridiculous is your unrealistic expectations. That and calling anybody who disagrees with you a "fanboi."

Its not acceptable. You are a fanboi if you think it is. 4" at 10 yards rested? that's ridiculous.
Maybe some caramel is stuck in the barrel?

"It will wear off"
Why does everyone here keep saying this, yet not one person has shown me an example of a cerakoted bore thats "worn off"?
I have 200 rounds through mine and the cerakote is still there. Every bit of it. When will it "wear off", and when will I start seeing reasonable accuracy?
???
Tell you what. Any of you who say I should accept it, the guns for sale. $200 shipped. YOU can accept it.
That is even more ridiculous than your other posts! Yea right I'm going to buy your gun because you don't know how to shoot or try different ammo. You don't understand what you were getting into when you bought that high dollar masterpice and now you want out. Sorry, I'm not fixing your miastakes.
I'm not a fanboy, I just don't think the cerakote in the bore is a big deal. It's probably just overspray.
As I said, shooting low is to be expected. 4" groups at 10yds are not acceptable but I'm not the one doing the shooting. Which is why I refrained from comment.
So in the end you have nothing useful or helpful to add, you just want to troll.
The gun that was fine to you a few posts ago now is a "mistake" that you want nothing to do with. Yea Ok, buddy.
Fair enough, at least you are being an honest fanboi now and admit there is something inherently wrong with the manufacturer leaving cerakote in the bore of a new gun
That is indeed a "mistake"
I honestly don't care what you think. To date you have not added a single useful tidbit. 100% troll until you behave otherwise.I'm sorry you feel like I'm trolling you. I think you're being sensitive and haven't done enough to actually see how good or bad the gun actually shoots.
You must have missed where I said it shoots like crap. Of course I tried different ammo. When I say it shoots like crap, I mean it shoots like crap.Others have asked what ammo you used and did you try other brands of ammo. Did I miss where you tried other ammo?
It was various 22lr manufacturers, and they all shot like crap. This gun shoots like crap. When I say it shoots like crap, I mean it shoots like crap. What was it and how'd it shoot?
I'm calling my gun inaccurate because its inaccurate. You are the one trying to argue its not and you aren't making your case very well. You can't call a gun inaccurate when you only shoot one type of ammo through it because the ammo might be what's inaccurate.
Hopefully you get your gun figured out.
My gun is figured out. Thats the point of the thread. It's unacceptably inaccurate. Ruger mistakenly cerakoted the bore. The two are probably related, either is an issue in itself
So its going back to Ruger
Up to speed now?
LOL look at what you are arguing right now. Are you seriously suggesting I'm "jumping to conclusions" about the cause of my accuracy issues because I assume the cerakote being mistakenly applied to the bore is related to my inaccuracy issues?Yes I am now up to speed. You jumped to a conclusion and started a thread about it.
