Tragic boating accident

"I don't understand this paranoia regarding LEO's and BATFE agents." could be that when the courts decided that Leo's could legally lie to you, people started to stop trusting those them. Maybe it's just me but I don't trust those that insist they need to lie to do their jobs. Don't get me wrong maybe they [LEO's] need to be able to lie, but is it worth the loss of trust.

1. The guns were lost in a tragic boating accident.
2. The ATF surfs these forums to grab your guns.
Well, I don't know about surfing forums, but we and other LE Agencies dredge waters for firearms. I’ll bet every year 20 or 30 firearms used in crimes are recovered after being “lost in boating accidents.”

I think this thread is a light hearted responce to a serious question/problem. Today we are not require to report the disposition of our weapons to anyone barring certain court orders but tomorrow that may change. What responces would you really use if confronted with a list of serial numbers for firearms that you wished not to admit still having?

Here's a test. Go online on any gun forum and offer, to buy or sell, to or from anyone for cash, components to make a firearm full auto or select fire (without proper licensing) and see how long it takes them (LEO) to find you. Report your findings at the end of the day.

I sold my guns to some guy on the internet. I had a bill of sale with his name address and even his concealed carry permit number. But, I misplaced it somehow.

I don't buy from FFL anymore since BO got elected and appointed his anti-2nd amendment, big brother, socialist cabinet.

Yeah it's all a big joke until you're actually in the boat with the guns when it sinks. In November. In the middle of the largest lake in the state.

A 14' boat sinks pretty fast when a hole is torn in it 4" wide and 16" long. The guns are not high on the priority list at that point.

Unless you are a resident of Ohio. State law requires lost or stolen firearms be reported to the police.

That eliminates one excuse.
At some time that law was just a proposal and I bet nobody thought it made a difference.

Should the ultimate gun grab come to pass, might there be strong incentives to not hide your guns from authorities? Something like... "up to $10,000 and mandatory prison of 30-days per discovered post-ban weapon" just might do it for the majority.

Thus the spirit of "Molon Labe" must be understood to mean we must actively defend the 2A today, RIGHT NOW, else we will ultimately allow the antis to "come and take them" with ease.

If you are waiting for a showdown with authorities at your property line, then ask yourself whether you are part of the solution, or part of the problem.

Okay, stepping down now off the soap box... rebuttals welcome.

A good assessment.

I have no intention of a showdown on the property line, which can only be summarized as a no-win situation. I have every intention of funding and supporting the political leadership to protect and preserve everyone's RKBA.

Each is equally stupid as the other.
No reasonable person would ever really believe that you actually had a boating accident. Yeah, right.

It could happen !!! here is the pic
