So, like the title says, what do you think is the best caliber invented that never found acceptance by the main stream shooting community and, proverbially, withered on the vine.

My favorite would have to be the .41AE. I think this was an awesome round. I had a 1911 conversion kit, and it was one of the sweetest shooting guns I have ever shot. Due to the lack of ammo and reloading components (or their extreme cost), I sold off the conversion kit and dies, but would love to have it back.

6.8 spc, I would so get an upper if I could get a box of 20 at Wal-mart for 12-15 bucks.

35 Whelen. For some reason the 35 caliber doesn't stick in the US. It's a shame. They really are game stompers.

358 Win and 35 Whelen are good picks for this thread...

But, I think the BEST for this thread is the 480 Ruger.
You get just as good terminal performance as the 454 with recoil that isn't much more than a 44 mag.

Well, like stated above, at least one of these is almost mainstream.... But....

.41 Mag and 10mm are my two favorites.

30-40 krag was THE issue round for a few military's, just those mil sup guns are long gone, like last century gone, and yet you still can find commercial rounds for them, so no, that would be a faded round, not a never been round.

10mm & 41 mag. i had a s&w 10mm i ended up traded it becuse ammo was exspensive & somewhat hard to come buy. 41 mag becuse it is a nice medium between .357 & 44 mag.
