I have to go with my regular carry Beretta Cougar 45cal. It is a great defensive handgun, easy to hold for a follow up shot. I will carry a J frame Smith if concealing the 45 is a problem but I can't really feel comfortable with my 380. I have shot a 45 many years and depend on it as it has never failed me.

My No. 1 is my Kimber 1911 even though the one that gets the most knocking around and carry time is an XD40sc. I also enjoy the hell out of plinking away with single action revolver. I guess "favorite" can have a lot a variables attached.

Walther P5. Of all the handguns that I own, and I own a few, in a variety of calibers, this one is head-and-shoulders above the rest. It's highly accurate, it's 100% reliable, and it's a pleasure to shoot, whether you run a single mag through it or hundreds of rounds.

Beretta m9/92fs
CZ 75 (and variants)
BHP
SIG 226, 210, 225

It's hard for me to NOT like the 9mm with so many great guns chambered in that caliber.

That list does not include all the striker fired polymer guns either :)

My favorite is my CZ75B in 9mm. It is such a functional work of art. I'd love a CZ97 in .45.

My carry gun is a Kimber Custom Classic, a full-size M1911. I will admit to occasionally carrying a Colt Detective Special in .38 Special.

Other favorites are woods guns -- especially my Colt Woodsman and my Colt New Service in .45 Colt.

Saturday morning I bought a Beretta 92 M9. One range trip was all it took. This is one sweet shooting pistol.

I have two 1911's, both of which I love.

A Springfield Armory Lightweight Champion Operator, and a Kimber Stainless Compact Series I. Wouldn't trade either for the world.

with all the guns i own, lately, i'm almost embarrassed to say it, but my cz-82 is sort of my favorite. probably tied with my 22/45.

My Glock 20-10mm on the handgun calibers listed. I also like my Glock 33-
357sig. Hard to pick 1 of them between the 2.

I like .45ACP, but I'm definitely a 9mm fan. Beretta 92s and G19s are perfection to me.

A toss-up between my Dan Wesson C-BOB, and my DW CCO. Both a pleasure to use, and very accurate. I would sell all my others before those two.

I voted for the .45 acp (Ruger P-90)as this is in the autoloader forum but my favorite handgun (that I currently own) is my S&W Model 29-2 p&r with Pachmyr grips followed closely by my S&W 686.

I was struck with the thought that it's impossible to say, I have so many favorites, the DW Razorback 10MM is probably it though, it does everything well, and reloading it means it's not too expensive to shoot. The 10MM is the everything cartridge, if you don't know what the mission is take that and you will have every mission covered, shoot through car doors, shoot at a distance, stopping power and accuracy.

I also agree that the 10mm is a great cartridge, but you have to think about availability and cost. 9mm and .45ACP will always be more available than 10mm and the cost of 10mm is ridiculous. When I owned a 10mm G20SF, the only place I could find ammo for it was from DoubleTap; at the time GA Arms was taking too long to send me my ammo. If you're a 10mm fan and you reload, kudos! Reloading is definitely the way to go with 10mm.
