I'm over 21, but my best friend is 19. He and his dad have acquired a decent collection of firearms. I'll try to list them as I remember them.... I am really proud of this guy. He goes to church with me every Sunday, doing well in school, no alcohol, sex, or drugs..... I bought him one of the guns listed below for Christmas.

Marlin 917 VS .17hmr
Marlin Model 60 .22lr
AK-47 WSAR10
Mosin Nagant
Mossberg 500
KelTec PF9 9mm
Ruger SR9 9mm
Chiapa 1911 .22lr
CZ-452 Lux .22lr
AR-15 Spikes Tactical 9mm
Ruger mid size frame 357mag
Taurus Judge

To all the young guys out there, I personally am glad to see you here and online. I'm in my late 20s, and I remember when I was 19-22 and really getting involved in shooting. It can be a tough road at times, so I'm really glad to see that you guys took the leap and are making your way.

When I was your age (oh man I feel so old) I was shooting for the Academy's pistol team, nothing but .22s for hours a day. After my 21st birthday, I bought my first handgun, a used Colt Trooper Mk III. I sold that gun, which to this day I regret, by the way. I eventually started shooting IDPA and USPSA, started a gun blog, and that landed me with the company I work for today doing PR work in the gun industry.

The point of all of that I suppose is "keep shooting!" Don't let people get you down because you're young, just keep your head up, be respectful, and do everything you can to increase your skill and knowledge. Take a training class, practice frequently, and stay safe.

I'm 20. I have always been.... highly interested... in guns. Its nice to see theres a few other young guys here.

To the "older" guys on the board: Thanks for keeping the sport going! And all the help you've been willing to give both here and at the range. Ya'll have done a stand up job of leading by example.

I've always wondered the same thing myself. I'm a "younger" shooter, but I'd never thought to ask about it. Just turned 21 on the 21st so replying is kind of cheating but hey.

But on to the good stuff.

1. 2nd Gen Glock 17
2. 3rd Gen Glock 23
3. Sub-Compact S&W MP
4. A CETME Sporter .308
5. A folding stock WASR-10/63
6. A .50 cal Muzzle Loader (Navy Arms Country Boy?) (Bought it when I turned 18, and never fired it LOL.)
7. Bushmaster XM-15
8. And even though it's not mine, an FN Five-Seven (Grandfathers)

But I'm in the market right now for an HK45, or maybe my own Five Seven, lol. I've been looking at the Stoeger Cougars, and the FNP's as well.

Just like you, I've learned a lot from lurking this site too.
wow, you must be a rich 21 year old! That's an awesome collection for someone so young! safe shooting.

What's wrong with alcohol and sex? Heck, even some drugs are ok by me. Glad to see that he's on the right track though, sounds like he's got a good mentor!

At 21, I was completing my senior year of undergrad school. I owned three guns by that time. I barely had enough money to buy a burger at McDonalds let alone take a girl out on a date. I used to drop by McDonalds at closing to "beg" for burgers they were just going to throw out. It was sort of a game. Buying guns was sort of out of the question. I harldy ever ate at a real sit down restaurant before I was out of college. Times have changed.

Many of you are so much more fortunate than I was.

I'm 22 My collection has thinned out recently but this is what I have currently.

Remington 870
Mossberg 500
Ruger 10/22 stainless synthetic (Christmas present from my dad when I was 14)
Mossberg .30-06
Mosin Nagant 91/30
Browning .380 Belonging to my grandfather
Walther P22 I bought for Christmas (Favorite gun so far, I love it)
Forgot to add my Yugo SKS... I knew I was leaving something out.
Also forgot to add a Marlin .30-06 that also belonged to my grandfather. I let a guy from church borrow it like 2 years ago. I should probably call him about it.

I just turned 18. My mirst rifle was a Marlin 795 .22lr given to me when I was 16. This christmas a got a 12ga Baikal coach gun. I carry my Kershaw Blackout pretty much everywhere I go (except school). I haven't got my hunting license yet but hope to get it soon.

Weirdest thing about shows is the age dichotomy. You've got the Punk Kids category (proudly representing!) and then the Old Guys.

Unfortunately, now that I'm middle twenties and have absorbed so much information since taking up this hobby, I no longer can gull the Old Guys into pontificating, or tolerate when they pontificate and are wrong or don't know as much as I do, plus now that I'm not young-and-innocent-looking, people get suspicious when I stay quiet or play dumb.

It's kinda taken a good bit of the fun outta shows and such. Never shoot, never have time. Took to it as a complicated but interesting collecting-memorizing-studying hobby, with genealogies and mechanics all rolled into one big fascinating spaghetti.

Otherwise, twenty-six, lots and lots (and for those of you who know me by reputation, that's quite a lot) of guns, got in at eighteen from a non-gun family with a christmas Winchester 1300 Camp Defender for barn vermin, snowballed when I found out I could buy real WW2 guns, and then because of no social life, a good paycheck, and a knack for finding deals, kinda went overboard.

I actually ebayed bayonets, gunparts, and militaria as a parttime self-employment last year when I was otherwise unemployed. The lore I'd learned as a hobby literally kept me afloat for awhile.

RKBA community 2.0, of which I feel like a second-generation member, fully raised in the matured environment pioneered by "adults" only a few years before, is going to be far more viral and far more open than the old half-fudd-half-whispered closed society of gunshows, fudds, and highpower shooters. Yes, people had guns for deer, for plinking, went to ranges, and taught newbs, but that invisible barrier of entry involving who to ask and sheepish newbie questions and being unable to gauge the group norm (except by the camo-clad paramilitary survivalist stereotypes presented by media and societal preconceptions) has been blasted away by The Internet, and enabling newbs to integrate and congregate so much more easily and effectively than was previously possible it's uncanny.

25, and some of the younger cats here have better collections than me! Somehow, I don't think my wife will let me use this as a reason to go shopping, but anyways

FN 5.7
Taurus Judge
Mossberg 500 12 Gauge
CVA Wolf .50
Remington 597 .22

I grew up with a couple of shotguns in the house, and my dads service pistol (Which I NEVER saw.) Killed thousands of clays, from the age of about 12, did some hunting, and plinking here and there. From the age of 22, I started buying my own guns, and have averaged a little better than one a year. If I can keep that average going I'll be set. :D

Sheesh, I am 27 and I own a Yugo SKS and a Taurus .32H&R Mag; I am interested in collecting more C&R styles rifles (I would really like to get my hands on a SVT-40 or a MAS-49, an Enfield, and a Mosin) , 2" S&W .357 and I really, really want a Dan Wesson CBOB (I know there are oop- I basically want a Dan Wesson Commander but they have really jacked the prices up), and probably a CZ Sp-01 or a RAMI in 9mm.

I'm 18 and have been shooting for most of my time. My first gun was a single-shot 20 ga that I got on my 8th birthday and now here is what else I've got to work with. (pistols registered to father of course)

1. Sig Sauer P220
2. Glock 19
3. Remington 870 Express 20 ga
4. Beretta 3901 Citizen 12 ga
5. Savage .270 WSM
6. Doublestar Star 15

New guy here from NE Ohio. First gun that I actually owned was a H&R 12 guage Ultra Slug when I was 16 from my dad so I wouldn't have to borrow his guns for deer season. I'm 23 now and have collected a few more.

1978 Marlin 336C in 35 rem
Glock 19
Marlin model 60
S&W m66
Winchester model 1200
And next I'm not sure if I want to start building an AR or pick up a Marlin XL7 in 30-06

Glad to be part of the board

I'm 22, shot like crazy from about 6-14 years old then during high school I was "too cool" to hang with my grandpa. At 19 I got back into it heavily and now hang/shoot with my Grandfather all the time. I missed out on some good years but I'm still learning.

It is certainly interesting how young folks learn and mature. Birdmang, you're doing it the way most teenagers have done it for generations and you are over the hump. You have many wonderful and challenging years ahead of you. Enjoy them to the fullest.

Im only 18, Been hunting since I was 12, Shooting since 10, and collecting since my 18th birthday. Im probably gonna get my CWP soon(18 in MT if i read it right) and im looking into joining the NRA. Also im gonna be reloading very soon.

Guns in order of acquisition

1942 Izzy M-N 91/30
Ruger 10/22(Modified to my liking)
Sportized 1903 Springfield

21 here. Started off by buying my first rifle two days after I turned 18 and I haven't looked back since.

My current collection stands at:
FEG PA-63
1971 Winchester 1894
1942 Izzy M91/30
1944 Izzy M44
1971 Marlin Model 60
1982 Mossberg 500A

It's a whee bit smaller than what I've had before but it's more than adequate for my purposes. Some I've sold, others I've traded due various circumstances but mostly they were casualties to my search of new things:

2 x Mosins
4 x Enfields
2 x Mausers
1 x Hipoint
1 x Taurus
1 x Spanish somethingoranother
1 x Mossberg
1 x H&R
1 x Ruger
1 x Remington

I guess I have a soft spot for oldies, especially in the way of rifles.

OP: Is that blood on your knife?

It just caught my eye and looked odd.

Well I was fairly broke when I was in school, but I had a Monday - Friday job as well as being a student in engineering at a fairly tough school. I slept about 3 hours a night, consumed coffee and ramen noodles, and managed to set aside enough change to start a nice little collection. Of course I could look back on it and say "I wish I'd just spent all my time studying and never spending money on enjoyable things so I wouldn't have student loans", but that's a lie.

Hey cool thread! i'm 19 and have grown up around guns all my life guns and broncos are my passion! heres what i got

Ruger 10/22
1946 Russian m44
Norinco sks
Mossberg 500 12 gauge field security combo
Savage 110 .30-06
Ruger gp100 .357 magnum
and the knifes i use the most

I'm probably on the very-young scale here, I would guess. I'm 14, but have been shooting most of my life.

I've recently started working at summer camps and around the neighborhoods to get my own guns. The two that I have purchased by myself are a Mini-14 All Weather Ranch rifle and a scope for it and a 1942 Izzy Mosin Nagant M91-30. I will soon add to that collection this year an M1a Loaded and next year another Mosin, hopefully a 30's ex-PU sniper.

HOLY COW Cal-gun....how well do these camps pay?? An M1A loaded??

Heck, put in a good word for me and I'll come work

I'm 22. Been shooting for year and half or so. Sadly, none of my family was in to shooting when I was younger. My gf's brother got me into it and I've been addicted ever since.

So far my collection consists of:
1. Ruger .40 carbine
2. Norinco SKS
3. RA XCR
4. Mossberg 500
5. Franchi 1968 .22 (Technically my brothers, but he's in Cali and hasn't come to get it yet)
6. Ruger SR9c
7. CZ SP01 Phantom

I've also owned a Del-ton AR and a I.O. STG-2000. Both rifles were lemons.
