Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside

I wish they got into details like what ammo was used and specifics of the gun.

Sounds like the Boyfriend/Husband was taking a beating and luckly she knew how to use her gun and possibly saved their lives :)

Florida beauty queen Meghan Brown, right, shot and killed an intruder with her pink .38-caliber handgun during a home invasion March 12 (FoxNews.com).

When a burly ex-convict forced his way into a posh Florida home last week, he had no idea what awaited him -- a 25-year-old beauty queen with a pink .38-caliber handgun.
Meghan Brown, a former Florida pageant queen, shot and killed 42-year-old Albert Franklin Hill during a home invasion March 12 at the 2,732-square-foot house she shares with her fiance in Tierra Verde, Fla.
Hill barged into the home at around 3 a.m. after Brown responded to a knock at the front door, according to a police report.

if they are as wealthy as he says they are... i hope he didnt skimp and get a charter arms...but whatever, it worked lol one less dirtbag in florida to worry about

I hope my wife has the guts to pull the trigger if she ever needs to. I have told her to make the decision now so that she won't have to think about it if the time does come some day.

I am not saying the woman described in the story was this way, but, isn't it strange how seemingly anti-gun people suddenly become very pro-gun in an emergency like this? :p

I am glad she was able to defend herself.

edit: reading the story, a few things:

* Yet another person who answers the door at 3 AM
* A fiance who isn't awakened by someone ringing the doorbell at 3 AM? Lady doesn't wake up her fiance, either?
* Decides to answer it - UNARMED. Seriously?
* "uhh, do you have change for $100" come on
* $60k engagement ring? :rolleyes:

Not blaming the victims, but really... this could've ended much easier for these folks.

That's good for her, that she recognized that if you have to shoot once, you have to shoot more than once unless they immediately and effectively convey their desire to quit the engagement.

$60,000 on a ring? Crazy talk.

For a non shooter that just buys a gun for around the house, i don't see why the Charter Arms is such a bad choice.

Remember its Pink. How many options are out there? I know it could be re-finished but its not like they are gun enthusiasts.

When i took my Fiancee to pick out a gun, i let her choose ANYTHING, and i kid you not, without even looking or knowing the price she picked a S&W SIGMA!!!!!!!! I tried to at least get her to pick an M&P but she felt comfortable with the sigma. Who knew! LOL

Exactly! Very good to review and review, and review again with all family members that will have access to a weapon in the home.

What he said. Until this happened, it seems like they were living in la-la land. Seriously, flashing $100 bills and a giant diamond, then answering a door by yourself, unarmed, at 3AM without even waking up your sleeping fiancee? Sure glad it turned out OK for them.

hahaha

"she was not a good shot at the range"

hahaha

I doubt that it mattered at the range at which she probably shot him. :) And as we all should realize, it's good that she at least had the mindset if not the skill set.

There is no more powerful, effective way to convert people than experience. Of course, wisdom--the ability to learn from the experience of others--is superior, but few people have much of that.

That's how many people behave when they believe that they live in a good neighborhood. I've known several people who don't ever lock their doors, even at night. The obvious (to us) problem is that even when the neighborhood is good, bad people can always come over for a visit.

Brag brag brag!

Well, I'm glad that they didn't have to pay for this hard lesson with their lives. I have to say, however, that there's a strange inconsistency in these folks who would keep a loaded gun around for defensive purposes, yet answer the door for a stranger at 3 am. :scrutiny: I hope that the gun doesn't make them feel invincible, but judging from the lady's comments in the second article, I wonder if that is at least partly the case. :uhoh:

If it fits her hand better or she likes how it looks or whatever, then what's wrong with that?

Not talking about guns here but just a thing I noticed when SHTF medically (at least in my family)...

-Men, talk big all day long and fantasize about playing Mr. Save A Life hero. Then when they see blood they pass out and become patient #2.
-Women, can't stand talk of blood. Then when someone passes out due to arterial bleeding become the hardest rock you could imagine.

I've seen this, at 3am.

Seriously you never know people until you shove them up against a wall, then their true self comes out.

That is impressive, good for her.

The guy seems to want to talk about his money every chance he gets. Too bad for her.....sorta.
