I'm stumped. I've got plenty of guns...no "need" for another one. BUT...I want to sell a few out of the safe that I'm never going to use. This leads me to my dilemma...I have no earthly idea what I'd put that money back into.

Nothing is currently jumping out at me screaming "buy me! buy me!"

How do you guys decide what to buy when there is nothing really standing out to you?

i like the thought...but my sock is already pretty dang full right now. I could put the money there but I already have a bunch there doing basically nothing with interest rates where they are.

I usually find a good gunshow, or perusing the classifieds (here and local), will do wonders to lighten my wallet.

My list of "want to buy" is so long now i need to hit the lottery to get it all.:D

You get interest from a sock?! I really need to dump my bank...:(

As far as which gun to buy, get a Chiappa Kodiak 45-70, since I'm interested in one, but no one's ever bought one to test, so far as I can tell ;)

Buy a revolver in the same caliber as your favorite auto.:)
I love that thought...and I already have one! I love the .45 ACP but I dis-like chasing my brass. I got a S&W 625 that has grown into one of my favorite guns.

Depending on exactly how heavy your sock is, you can never have too many high quality 1911's. A richly blued, finely machined, carefully built 1911 is a thing of beauty and will never loose it's value. The investment will yield more than putting the money in the bank.

i can only WISH i had your problem (yes, jealousy), but all i know is, my sock isn't charging me $15 a month to bank with it... and if you keep filling the sock, maybe someday, instead of, say, 4 different .30-30s, you might spend it all at once on a .45-70 high wall...

The timing might be the key (before Oct.-Nov.), as you must be well aware.

How high is your ammo consumption? There is almost no chance that ammo will get any cheaper.

Instead of looking at the hardware look at what skills you'd like to improve or shooting you'd like to try. IDPA trap skeet etc. Once I started matching guns to the shooting I like doing my collection thinned as well.

Pocket Carry 9MM

Full/mid size Glock for range/courses

22 handgun for cheap handgun intro for friends

Two LE6920 Colts. One to trick out with optics etc the other a basic carry handle sighted general purpose carbine.

Socks?

Great idea!!!

Maybe some new Underwear too, after I looked at it closely while folding the laundry today!

^ BINGO! ^
If you are fully vested in the hardware department, put that money into the "software" department. Take a 3 day advance defensive pistol course with what you actually carry. I know a lot of people who shot a 4" 686 at the range, and then carry a 442. How often do you get REAL training on your carry piece? And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, invest in Hi-cap mags...I unfortunantly see some type of restriction comming in the not so distant future.

rc, ifyou MUST do your own laundry, you NEVER look at the 'whites' when you fold 'em (why are you folding them? nobody else sees 'em wrinkly!)

THAT'S what to do with the money! once-a-week maid service!

Send it too me...I've got a wife and daughter that will empty that sock quickly.......

In all honesty, buy ammo and shoot, then shoot some more. Or take a training class?
