I currently carry a J-Frame IWB with an Old Faithful kydex/leather holster, but I'm thinking of getting a Glock 26 to replace it.

Anyone carry a G26 daily, and if so how do you carry it and how does it work out for you?

I carry the 26 every day. It's nice and light and carries well. I carry with a ankle holster due to my line of work on weekdays. Weekends and nights I carry IWB with a crossbreed supertuck.
I use a +2 extension when I carry on my ankle. It's hard to conceal with the extended mag IWB. So I use a normal 10 rounder then.

For fun I shoot at 200 yards with this gun. It's an amazing gun. I really don't see the need for the 27. .40 cal is kinda snappy and really not necessary when the 9mm is sufficient. I shoot 147gr Ranger T's.

Off duty I carry my glock 27 in either a galco King Tuk holster at around the 4 oclock position, or a galco mx7 holster. I tried the sepra holster route, but it didnt suite my needs. I would like to get a high end custom holster, but I have too many mouths to feed.

Yup. Carry my G26 in a Nate Squared Pro holster, and it's by far the most comfortable setup I've used. I carry at 3:00, and still conceal the gun with even just a t-shirt. And I do mean conceal... bending, twisting, getting in/out of the vehicle... it stays concealed.

I appendix carry a G26 in a High Noon "Mr. Softy'. The setup is surprisingly comfortable, easy to carry and conceals in anything.

I carry my 26 in an owb holster i made. I wear an over shirt mosy days, so iwb isn't something i have to worry with. I'm thinking about getting an ankle holster for it.
I usually carry the 26 when i can't carry a bigger gun in the summer.

Fantastic shooter and would probably be the last gun i gave up.

I've often carried its 40 caliber cousin, the same-sized G27. Most recently I've carried it in a FIST kydex or ultra thin kydex rig. I carry it inside waistband (IWB) at about 3:30 or 4 o'clock. My particular favorite is the forward cant of about 15 degrees.

No problems.

I'm of the opinion that most people could easily conceal a G26/27, or G19/23 in a Crossbreed Super Tuck or DeSantis Intruder. They really aren't excessively large or wide.

I carried a G26 for a couple years. I carried it in either a FIST leather IWB holster or RCS holster. Worked very well in all respects. Its a big enough gun that I could shoot and run it well, yet small enough it concealed relatively easily. My G26 was very reliable.

I prefer mine to my J frame and think that on a balance it is a better fighting gun. I generally prefer autos to revolvers though.

There is something to be said for the argument that if you can carry G26 IWB you can often carry/conceal a G19 just as easily.

Edit: that's a Dale Fricke Gideon Elite OWB holster. It's the most comfortable holster I've ever owned, and conceals completely under an un-tucked t-shirt or polo.

I get up in the morning and when I get dressed my G26 goes IWB at 3:30. It stays there until I go to bed. In the summer I use the standard 10 round magazine with a T-Shirt over it and in the winter I put a +2 magazine in it. I don't think I could carry a G19 as easily. It shoots very well and is my range gun as well. It handles very well. To me the G26 is as big as I care to carry and as small as I would care to fight with.

G-27 v/s G-36

I have a G-27 and dont use it as I prefer the G-23 as my EDC.

But I am looking at the G-36 but it will have to be the gen 4 for me to like the grip.

I like the comfort of shooting the .45 over the .40.

I wish I had gotten the 26 as its a less recoiling gun and more fun/accurate to shoot.

Leastwise that is what I have found.

Take a look at the G-36 and see if that is a bit slimmer and still plenty of punch, not saying anything wrong with the new .9 MM's as they are great.

just think the G-36 is slimmer.

Sure, it would make a great carry gun. A gun roughly the same size, holding twice as many of a more efficient cartridge, with good sights and a short trigger pull - what's not to like? The revolver would carry better in your pocket, however. I would recommend putting a finger extension on at least one of your magazines - or better yet, another magazine with an extension and two extra rounds - for belt holster carry, substituting a flat-base mag for times when you want to make it smaller.

The G-36 is slimmer, but you need properly adjusted calipers to prove it.

Holding 6+1 of .45 compared to 13+1 of .40 and 15+1 of 9mm

I love .45, but I'm choosing one of the other two.

Or if I want a smaller package, enter the G-26 holding 10+1 or 12+1 of 9mm when you add a +2 base plate.

Generally carry a G26 with a 10-round mag and the GAP floorplate IWB at 3:30, with a 17-round mag as a reload in my front weakside pocket.

As far as carrying a G19 -- I could conceal it just as well, but it wasn't as comfortable for me sitting in a car with the longer grip. Plus, I switched out before the Gen4s came out, and the hump on the lower part of the Gen2/3 G19 backstrap forced the barrel to point above my point of aim.

Sgt_R, is that a G26 with a Trijicon RMR?

Yep. Sorry about the blurry pic, it was one of those spur of the moment bathroom mirror jobs.

Here's a better one:

G26 Gen 4 w/ Trijicon RMR RM02, suppressor BUIS, Glock factory "-" connector, G17 smooth trigger, extended slide stop lever, and GAP floorplate. Slide work was done by TSD Combat Systems.

Nothing compares in size vs. weight vs. capacity, as well as the ability to take +1. +2. +3, 15rd, 17rd and 33rd magazines. I find it the smallest gun that performs well in action shooting.

I carried a G30 daily, until I wised up a few years back, and acquired a G26. Liked it so much that I bought one for my daughter and one of my sons. I carry mine in a Sidearmor IWB holster @ about 11:30. I believe I have a 20* cant custom J hook.

I prefer my G36 over a G26. The grip is noticeably slimmer and much more comfortable. The G26 grip is just block feeling in my hand. I'm comfortable with 7rds of 45. I wish they made a slim line 9mm for the extra couple rounds it would carry over the G36.

There is something to be said for the argument that if you can carry G26 IWB you can often carry/conceal a G19 just as easily.

No, not really. I just got a 19 tonight, and after a 300-round check, I carried it in my 26 holster.

The grip requires a tad more concealment effort (I.E. sliding my holster forward to about 2:30-2:45). I also won't be able to throw this in a pocket like I can the 26 (though the 26 is far from ideal, it's still doable). So while I think the 19 is very close, the 26 is just a better gun from a CCW standpoint due to the magazine options.

That said, I like my new 19 so much more from a shooting standpoint, and will be carrying it full time, aside from the few times where the smaller grip of the 26 is ideal.

I carry my G26 80% of the time, and when I do, 94% of that is in the pocket of my cargo shorts or pants and the other 6% is in a Cobra Skin IWB holster. I carry a 10r mag with a Pearce +2 grip extension and I have a backup 15r mag in my pocket.

Though I'm thinking, I might start carrying my G30 a little more often.
