Two guns and only two guns.

When the clock strikes midnight tonight, you only have the two guns chosen, and you won't be getting any more. Nothing else in the world changes differently than it otherwise would have. This is a theoretical mental exercise aimed at uncovering priorities. This is NOT a SHTF thread.

Post the specific firearms you have in mind, if you like. Please limit it to firearms you are legally able to possess.

I will start: If I could only have two guns, they would be my Glock 26 (3rd gen with night sites), and my Colt 6920.

As many of you will probably recognize, I have a thread with a poll going asking what you would select if you could only have one gun. The thread on the other forum that has been going awhile is for two guns, and people usually have a lot easier time getting two than one.

This is NOT a SHTF question or thread

That's a tough one. I'd have to go with 2 of the guns I use for 3-gun. Deciding between the shotgun or the AR... and as much as I love my Benelli, I'd have to take the AR. So... a CZ75B-SA 9mm and Colt AR15 CR6720 with shortened to 18.5" barrel.
Why? IMO, this combination will serve a greater variety of needs than a shotgun/pistol combo. I really hate not having the shotgun though... that's why they call it 3-gun and not 2-gun. :p

pistol/shotgun
LCP/BSS

The handgun is the hardest to choose from because I like all that I own, but I'd have to go with my EDC

Handgun and shotgun; no question. Thinking M1911 and a semi-automatic shotgun; perhaps a Mossberg SPX.

Sig 239 and my Benelli Nova. 239 isn't my highest capacity, but it is my most accurate and comfortable. The Nova isn't my prettiest or most expensive shotty, but it's my most durable and versatile. I've taken more game with that Nova than all of my other firearms combined.

Ok,...I'll play,.... an Old Model Ruger Blackhawk Convertable in .357/9mm with a 6 1/2 inch barrel,..and a Savage Model 24 in .223 over 12 gauge,...with an insert for .22 WMR or LR.........

I forgot about combination long guns for polling purposes. For the .223 over 12 gauge, did you vote it as a rifle or a shotgun?

Edit: nvm, I see you voted it as a shotgun

I'll take the previously mentioned Freedom Arms Octagonal Barrel .454 in 5 or 6 inch, and a big +1 for a Savage Over/Under.

I've been drooling over the Old man's Savage in .410/.22 since I was allowed anything larger than a BB. Fantastic rifle.

If things boiled down to two, M686P/6" and M1 Garand National Match. As a handloader they'll take care of my needs. :)

My Ruger M77 .308 w/ Leupold scope, and my Glock 19. I'm going with what I have now, and not what I'm dreaming for.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, it'd be a M1 Garand and a 1911 Government Model

-no wait, it'd be a Para FAL and a Browning Hi-Power

-no wait, AR Carbine and a PPQ

-Oh, I know- Remington Mountain Rifle in 280 AI and a Ruger Single Action in 45 Colt

-no wait! Armalite AR10 and a Glock in 40 S&W

-Ooh, yes! Marlin 1895 with 18" octagonal barrel in 45-70 and a Colt SAA in 45 Colt

-no wait! An M14 and a Colt Commander

-no, wait!-

Once again, i couldn't choose from your poll...

So, now we are up to TWO guns!!

Well, i'd BY FAR have to choose my "go to" gun,

standard.jpg

And my second gun would be my S&W M-19 in 357 magnum.

So, at midnight tonight, the Feds are going to break down my door and take everything except the two of my choice?

Sorry, but I find this a ridiculous premise.

I would expect such a question from a new member who has spent no time here.

If a Senior Member cannot do better that that, THR is going downhill fast.

From what I currently own?
S&W 625 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt
Winchester 94 in .30-30

Otherwise, I'd keep the Smith & add a nice drilling in 2x16 and 9.3x74R.

I'd bribe an anti to use his "two gun" tag and then sell them to me so I could have four guns. :D

You wouldn't be able to get it from a true anti. Well, maybe, if the $ was right...but one of the many fences-sitters would seem to be a far easier/cheaper target. ;)

Orien .... lighten up. We can hit search all day long or we can discuss stuff. Abstain at your pleasure.
