I like the .22mag round for handgun shooting .I am wanting to pick up a new Kel-Tec in that cal. I have not gotten to get a look at one except in a gun magazine. I was woundering if someone had some first hand knowledge with one & would they buy it again?

Just looking at Kel-Tec's reputation with their previous opuses, I'd say no. They have always had an iffy quality; if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

I love mine

I have had mine for over a year and it just keeps on ticking. very accurate and a blast to shoot

I have 2 KelTecs....a PLR16 and a KSUB2000. You either love them for what they are or hate them. I love them because they are different than the rest and are somewhat of a novelty. If you are into precision machined stuff stay away. KelTec stuff usually works pretty good but can be finicky regarding ammo.

Which models did you own? I have owned the PF9, P11, & P3AT. Quality was good on all 3. They were ugly and recoil was brutal, but I had a lot of rounds shot through them over the years with zero issues. Which ones gave you trouble

I have 2, one about 18 months, the other for about 2 years...........
I will buy everyone I can, for MSRP or less! Great weapon, accurate, and a blast to shoot.... Load on sunday, shoot till thursday! Kel tec's customer service is outstanding! They upgraded my early model at no cost! Don't know about their other models but the only thing wrong with this pistol (PMR 30) is distributors are hoarding them to keep the prices high!
Bought both of mine from LGS for below MSRP, and was offered one for slightly higher but refused to pay an inflated price! If you can find one for$415.00 or less, new, I will buy it, if you don't! If you ever have trouble with it Kel-Tec will make it right! I would not buy this gun used as the warranty will not transfer to you. The two I have are not nearly as ammo specific as their older cousins, the Grendel P-30 also a great weapon, but requires a specific diet for the first 1000 rounds.

P.S. IHMO the quality is outstanding for a working gun! (not a safe queen!)

I've owned a P-11, have a PF9, had a P3AT, and a 9mm and .40 SUB2000.

All of these guns have been reliable and flawless.

I'm on two waiting lists for a PMR-30.

My PF9 is a carry gun, and while I've since picked up a Kahr CM9, I'm not quite ready to retire or sell the PF9 -- even though the CM9 trigger is better.

My sister and I each have one. We love 'em. Mine was earlier than hers, had to do a slight extractor mod to make it run 100% with all ammo, and I broke the take down pin at about the 1,200 round mark. KT had 2 new pins in my mailbox 3 days later.

My sisters later model has never had a problem.

They are accurate, and they are FUN!

That's some serious availability right there - I've been wanting one for a while, but no luck thus far locally.

I wish something like the pmr was a avalible in a Rimless centerfire cartridge.

Mabye a 30 round 32

Heck even a 22lr has more appeal to me than 22mag wich costs as much as 9mm nowadays

posted via that mobile app with the sig lines everyone complaints about

Love mine....
Light and great fire power!
Kel-Tec makes some great guns.

Get one when you can. :D

Lateck,

I like mine. Haven't shot it in a while, I'll have to take it to the range next time. I really want to know what it will do to bowling pins, I think it might give me an advantage at the matches in spring.

I like the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the people too lazy to chase one down, too. And the continual complaints from CA/NY. Give it up, KelTec is selling every unit they can produce, they're not going to make a special variant for the idiotic NY/CA "laws". Unless a PMR compact variant gets made, there aren't going to be special 10x mags just for the nanny states.

A better question would be - What are you planning on doing with one? If it's just going to be a range toy, I'd say go for it. If you're planning on using it for some kind of SD/HD purpose, I'd say move on 'cause there are better options. You'll end up paying 9mm centerfire prices for 22 Mag rimfire that can't take advantage of the cartridge's potential from such a short barrel.
