So what are all y'all paying for ammo these days? I just stopped by the Wally World and picked up a few boxes of Federal FMJ 9mm - target rounds for $13.97 a box.

I haven't purchased pistol ammo since before the insanity. Nope, absolutely did not want to fuel the stupidity. Picked up some shotgun ammo but no pistol or 22LR in over 6 months. Seems to me ~$14 a box is still a couple of bucks more than before but what the hay, it's on the shelves.

So they didn't tell you to come back at some approximate time to wait in line with 20 other people for just a chance that they 'might' have the ammo ? Then this is great news. I was there three weeks ago at 4pm and was told 8pm is when the line starts.

The last thing I bought ammo for was my 375H&H and that was almost a year ago. It was $60 a box then, I think. Now I am set up to reload it as well.
Caught another thread about the 375 H&H and remembered I had an old partial box (17 Rounds). The box was pre UPC code and has a sticker on it of $27.95. Remington R375M1 270 Grain soft points. Not bad. :)

As to current July 2013 prices. From what I have seen depending on the ammunition but on average for 38 Spl, 357 Mag, 45 ACP and 45 LC about a buck or two higher on the run of the mill 50 round boxes. Really seems to depend where I see it.

I'm with you op. Not really wanting my wallet to be gouged out by some greedy idiot so I've passed on the current prices too. Starting to see ammo come into the local wm but no 9mm 223 or 22lr yet. I'd like to have some 9mm and 22lr...

On a side note I did pick up 7 boxes of Federal Fusion 223 and 1 box of FGGM 223 for $120 right before all the nonsense started!

Just got back from Cabela's by Omaha. They have hundreds of boxes of .223 and 5.56 in various brands. They range from $9 to $25 per box of 20. 9mm for $15 per 50, 22 lr. $6 per box of 50, and various other calibers that have been a little scarce lately.

My local walmat has been having 9mm for $24 per box of 100 win. wb. They had .22 cal. for $15 for 330 round boxes.

cheapest hundo packs of wwb were 21 and some change at m wally world, I have a few... didn't shoot them throughout the crazy times.... they had federal once... once there in the last who knows how long... bout 8 months I guess... it was like 12.50... I bought it all... that was right before they set limits.. I still have all 8 of those too... shot up lots of my older stuff though

Something must be loosening up.

I found .40 (both 50 and 100 rnd packs) 9mm and 3 boxes of CCI subsonic .22 at two walmarts this week.

Both had 5.56 as well.

This is middle of the day. And neither have had much for ammo in the past 7 months.

All were "normal" priced

Ditto.
Only shotgun shells and some rifle rounds (30-06, .243, .270 mostly) until recently. In the past month, they have gotten a few boxes TulAmmo 7.62x39 FMJ, and 1-2 boxes 9m, .40, & .45.
NO .22, .38/.357 for over 6 months.

My wally worlds have not had any ammo for about 8 months now
My Wally World has had ammo. Not always while I was there, but they have been getting it. Since December I have picked up 300 9mm, 300 45acp, 1k 223, 500 7.62x39, 2k 22lr, 500 12ga 00 buck while visiting at different times.

Not one dime given to scalpers.

Starting to see ammo more commonly but still not what I would call spectacular.

I paid $30 a box for 38 Super a couple of months ago. Other than that I don't recall when I last bought any factory ammo. But, please, gentlemen, keep buying it, shooting it, and especially, keep leaving the brass on the ground. :)

My local Wally World gets ammo on a regular basis. Unfortunately, it's really hit of miss when they put it out and whether or not what I'm looking for is on the shelf when I get there. I saw 7 boxes of WWB, .40 S&W, 100 round economy boxes today. I don't shoot that caliber so I didn't buy any of it. I figured I'd leave it for someone who could use it instead of buying it for barter or gouging. I hope it worked out that way....

I really wish the times I walked into wal-mart they had .22lr. I have a box from about a year or two ago. A 500 round box of blazer with a $19.99 sticker on it. I got a Ruger SR-22 and only have 400 rounds left and would like to pick up at least one more 500 round box or so as I plan to shoot most of what I have left right now when I do finally get out to shoot as I have not shot the gun since I bought it. I have about 450 rounds of 9mm that I paid about $18 each box of 50 after tax as the shop I went to had a limit of 2 boxes per customer per day I think.

Wal-Mart Prices Today:
.22lr 325rd boxes - $19.97 - 3 boxes left
9mm 100rd WWB FMJ - $24.97 - 15+ boxes left
.40 100rd WWB FMJ - $36.97 - 9 boxes left
.45 100rd WWB FMJ - $40.77 - 8 boxes left
.38 100rd WWB FMJ - $35.97 - 3 boxes left
.38 50rd WWB FMJ - $19.97 - 4 boxes left
.22lr 100rd CCI - $7.27
.223 WWB Bulk - $31.97 - Don't remember if 40 rounds or 100 rounds, but they had 4 or 5 boxes. I don't shoot .223.

Last week had some 40 and 45 Federal 50rds for $17 and $22 each.

there's a small shop I go to about 2 hrs away. Tula .223 (which works perfectly in my CMMG AR), is $7 a box, $6.50 if you buy the case. And he has lots...

My local WW just had
9mm Tula @10.38/box
9mm Winchester @$13.50/box
Winchester 555.22 @ $23.50/box
This ammo comes and goes but it is definitely loosing up.

Our local Mills Fleet farm had all calibers except .22 and 9mm, all others available in substantial quantities.

Yes things are loosening up. 308 at my local Academy is no longer limited to 1 box per day. 223/556 isn't moving off the shelf and it too may soon have its purchase limit lifted. 22lr still disappears quickly. 9mm is a rare bird as is 40 cal but not as rare as 38 special and 44 mag. 45lc has finally shown up but no 44-40.

An article I read here a few weeks back said Winchesters new ammo plant in Miss. will be running at full capacity by the end of the third quarter which means we should start to see significant improvement in the Sept/Oct time frame. Lets hope so.

Went shopping 6am today at local Walmart. They actually had six '333' .22lr cartons at $13.59 each. I have not seen any in quite a while at Walmart.

It's loosening up but there's been like a thirty percent upward change in prices and I don't think that's likely to change anytime soon folks. Walmart is the cheapest source of ammo there is and they know it. And when everyone else is acting crazy with their prices, Walmart only has to be so sane with theirs. Oh well, reloading will be my new biweekly hobby as opposed to my once every couple of months hobby.

Everyone always seems to be a few dollars more expensive than Walmart with their ammo.
