I have never liked HI-Points, rifles and pistols. I swore I would never own a HI-Point but, there was a 9mm carbine at my local gun store for $125. It was missing the rear sight and the front post. Just the same, I took it out back and put 50 rounds through it. It worked fine and, what's more, I was actually able to hit swingers at 60 yards by holding on top of what was left of the front sight. It was actually a lot of fun to shoot.

$125 for a functioning weapon is not a bad way to spend that kinda money. I think ya done good

Ugly as they are, everyone should own a Hi Point carbine. I find mine 100% reliable and shoots 4-6" groups at 100 yds.

Hi-Point 9.....

I agree with all three of you. My 9 Carbine works fine, (although I've never gotten used to the wooden knob on the left side), I'm glad I have mine! Who'd ever known! :)

I bought mine broken sent it to hipoint they replaced everything but the receiver for free and appologized for it breaking. After postage i have less than $50 in the thing.

My Hi point 9mm carbine is one of the funnest guns to shoot that I own. I made the same vow years ago but a friend of mine bought one sub $250. After watching him giggling like a school girl shooting out bulls eyes at 50 yards, I bought one as well.

No problem on the site. A red dot site will take care of it.... have fun with it!

Bought a gun I never thought I would buy 2 weeks ago too. Never have liked 270's but I got a stainless 700 w/a nikon 3x9 for $250. I'll throw 130gr. Barnes X or 150 gr. Partitions and should be happy.

Publius

Wow, just wow. That is a fantastic deal. The 270 is a great round. The 700 is a great gun. You did very well.

the factory sights are nothing on the gun that matters. throw a cheap red dot on it and have some fun. if you reload the gun will show it's true capabilities. put the 147gr in it for long range out to 100yrds it will shoot clays all day.:D

The Hipoint 9 carbine is on my "i wish i hadn't sold" list. I enjoyed mine. I should have kept it. The limited mag size was a pain, otherwise a good gun.

I know I was thinking the exact same thing: has to be about a Hi-Point carbine.

Great to hear that they work and all, just have no interest in ever aquiring one.

Somebody in another thread said you could somehow get/make one in 10mm. Now THAT would be interesting, assuming function was normal. I've got a G20 for a house gun. Perfect companion piece.

Guess I could get one in .45 to go with my 1911...

Hi Cap Mag......

I do appreciate the question, and maybe somebody can respond now. I hope so. Right now, I'm trying to get this cap off this bottle of milk of mag. Maybe I can get back to you later?

I would probably have left the Hi Point. That stainless .270 700 w/that scope for $250? What's wrong with it or who in your family gave it to you!?

Got three HP carbines, ain't a thing wrong with inexpensive guns that are accurate, reliable, and fun! I need to go shoot them, in fact.

Hi-point warranty

It turns out that they have a no questions asked warranty. I think I am going to have to check it out. The pistol grip likes to separate when a mag is inserted. Maybe I will get lucky and they will replace the old style stock for the new one along with new sights.

IraqiVeteran8888 is pretty much pioneering this. They've gotten the .40 pistol to work reliably with 10mm and are working on the carbine as well.

But, wow. A buck twenty-five for one of those is an awesome deal. I don't think i would have been able to say no either... With more than enough money left over between street price to pretty it up with an aftermarket stock and such--

Much as I despise Hi-Point handguns, I really don't have much too much bad to say about the carbines. They are no Beretta but they are decent casual shooting long guns.
