"The Best Single Stack 9" ?

I'm not going to say which is the best, because I don't know. It is very subjective and few people have tried all of them. Certainly a "top tier" choice is the S&W 3913 family.

P7's are great carry guns but I've transitioned to the Shield because of the shorter grip and lighter weight.

The P7 is a better gun if those two items aren't an issue for you.

Handle and shoot as many different makes and models as you can then decide what works best for you. You also have to decide which trigger system you prefer; double action/single action, single action only, double action only, hammer fired, striker fired, long heavy trigger (LC9) or long light trigger (Kahr) or short light trigger (1911 style), etc. You might shoot one pistol better than others but not like the trigger system or you may love the way one carries but not shoot it as well. Can you easily find parts and accessories like holsters for the model you ultimately choose? Can you add high visibility sights or night sights? Are the factory sights plastic or metal? Will they shear off if you have to perform a one handed slide manipulation? Does it have a safety? Is the safety easy to manipulate while excited or sweaty? Do you want a safety? Can you perform fast mag changes? The lower capacity of a single stack might necessitate a mag change during a fight. Lots to decide here and what I carry has no bearing on your decision.

I have a PM9, S&W Shield, and hopefully soon the new Walther CCP but as far as carrying goes, I adore the PM9. It's all subjective and opinion, but for me the Kahr PM9 fills all of my summer carry desires:

Light, accurate, thin, and reliable. I'd also now call it fun to shoot as I've gotten used to the trigger and always seem to surprise myself with it.

Shield is a great stacked 9mm too, love the trigger in it. I had an XDs 9mm but after the recall I got rid of it. Paid a lot less for the Shield which to me is a better shooter.

Had a P239 in 9mm, but sold it after finding one in 357 Sig.. They're great IWB guns in my opinion.

I'm hoping to add the new Walther CCP to my stacked 9mm collection..looks pretty cool.

I tried a Remington R51 and it had so many malfunctions through half a box of ammo I gave up and tried the PM9 which even with a mostly polymer frame is sooo much more reliable.

I'm expecting the CCP to be crap. It's not a real Walther, being made by Umarex. Probably have a pot metal slide like their others.

My wife's Para PDA with the LDA trigger was a pretty nice little single stack 9 for carry.

Kahr P9. I've been carrying one IWB for over 10 years now. A joy to conceal, ergonomically perfect for my hands, good trigger, super accuracy and complete reliability. I like it so much I bought a second one as a spare/practice gun.
