If you want a 43 and need a small very shootable gun suited for pocket or other discreet carry I say jump on it. I had one and found it uber reliable and easy to shoot. I shot it a lot better that some of the other sub compact offering such as the P365.
The thing that would give me hesitancy is...
The only short stroke I have ever gotten with a J frame was after I tried to install springs. I returned to stock springs and learned to love them and have not had any more issues. A Ruger LCR on the other hand I can short stroke enough to convince me to sell.
I am about as big of a snub fan as there is. It’s hard to argue the reliability of a stock Glock 19. I’ve sent more snubs to S&W for repairs than I have Glocks.
I would like to say one of my Glocks would be my favorite. My 19 would be a real close second or maybe third. My favorite would have to be my 60-14. That gun has been with me the most of any gun the past few years. Anytime I need a gun it seems to be there and has done what it was called on to...

That said I carry a snub and speed loader and nothing else in that pocket
When I carry a backup its a Glock 19 AIWB. Everyday I carry a J frame in my right front pocket and just because Im carrying a bigger gun doesn't make it less relevant.
That is pretty darn committed. I carry a 60 or a 642 just about every day. I have owned every latest and greatest gun to come to market and I always seem to circle back to a j frame. A J frame in my pocket is my fastest draw. I shoot J frames very accurately and without much effort. I find the J...
SP101's don't fit my hands well, but that's just my hands. I haven't shot them well in the past, but I will try harder this time. :)
Aren't your hands the only hands that matter? I totally get it. Sometimes I'm just determined to make something work. It a large part of the fun.
