if its in the barrels it could be junk that came loose in between the barrels. Take the barrels off and see if its the barrel or action thats making the noise.

Brownells "shop price survey" for chamber and fit barrel to action which does not include the cost of the barrel, action, polishing or bluing is $150-$250 but the best is to start calling gunsmiths that do this type of work and see how much they charge and wait time.

the real test would be to take one pistol shoot for accuracy and chrono it. Then freebore that pistol and do the same test agine. How did you freebore the barrel just curious?

you need to get the stock squared, also I go to a bigger size screw then the ones that come with the pad. I just not in to epoxy if I can help it besides thats not the way it would come for the factory. But do what you need to so it looks right to you.

I like the Winchester M70 pre 64 classic, mine never gave me any problems I like the trigger (dont know about the new triggers they use but I hear its good also). Sako is ok just never liked the Brownings A-Bolts so never got into there other rifles.
