Ordered my Tax Return Rifle today,,,
That's the one I treat myself to after I receive my refund.

I decided I wanted a CZ-512 semi-auto in .22 LR,,,
Everything was all set to order one,,,
Then I saw the Carbine model.



I was enthralled by it's appearance,,,
According to the Interwebz it has a new trigger.

And while the stock looks polymer,,,
It is actually dyed Birchwood.

It was somewhat serendipitous in how I decided,,,
For weeks now I've been trying to find one to fondle,,,
The closest one I could find was over a two hour drive away.

Then yesterday after work I popped into Academy Sports for ammo,,,
A customer was in there with a carbine fitting scope mounts.

He was gracious enough to allow me to handle it a little bit,,,
All I had to do was shoulder it just that one time,,,
I was hooked like a bass on a minnow.

So this morning I called The Evil Pawn Shop Guy,,,
He's searching his distributors for one.

I have a 75B in 9mm named Tmava Zena (Dark Woman),,,
And a 75B Kadet in .22 LR,,, named Mala Sestra (Little Sister).

These three CZ's will get their own custom case,,,
I believe I'll name the Carbine, Valentina.

Now that I've decided what to get,,,
I want it yesterday!

Update on availability,,,

I just received a phone call from The Evil Pawn Shop Guy,,,
He found one and it is on it's way as I type.

It's possible it could get here tomorrow,,,
But more likely it will be here Friday.

That's great news,,,
I can take Valentina on a Saturday range date.

This will make four for me.

75B in 9mm
75B Kadet in .22 LR
452 Trainer in .22 LR
512 Carbine in .22 LR

I think I'll have czitis covered when this one arrives,,,
I have what I consider their most desirable bolt-action rifle,,,
So a semi-automatic carbine should finish out my Czech Cravings.

For awhile anyways.

And yes, a range report with pics will be forthcoming.

I was fortunate when I first wanted a CZ rifle,,,
I belong to a large rifle & pistol club,,,
Members had both rifles to try.

I'll admit I was tempted by the Ultra Lux,,,
But IM-ns-HO, the Trainer had the better overall proportion.

I don't see myself getting another bolt-action CZ,,,
But who knows what will catch my eye.

I had a moment of panic when he put the box on the shelf,,,
It was much longer than I anticipated it would be,,,
I thought it was the full size,,,
Not the Carbine.

But all is good in Okie-Land.

I absolutely must do my lawn work tomorrow morning,,,
But that leaves the rest of the weekend free.

After I clean and lube her up tonight,,,
I'll head to the range and give her a good workout.

She shipped with a 10 round magazine,,,
But she is supposed to use the same mags as my 452,,,
I think a five round mag will be much easier to use and look better as well.

I have named her Valentina.

She will match up well with my other Czech ladies.
