Was hoping to leverage the combined experience here. I want to switch over to coated bullets in my hi power for my day to day shooting. Don't want to go to uncoated lead because more often than not after the range, JHP's get loaded and the gun goes right back in my holster. Do any of you have experience shooting jacketed and coated bullets in the same barrel without cleaning? Any issues?

I do it all the time. Depends on what is on sale!

copper plated or powder coated ? I switch from plated to jacketed all the time ,

Haven't had any issues switching between jacketed and copper plated bullets. What type of issues are you concerned about?

I believe the OP is talking about coated lead, not plated. Personally I would shoot them back to back without concern.

Yes thank you. I'm referring to coated lead followed by jacketed. Normally I use plated for my plinking loads but I would like to get my cost per round down.

I have noticed no residue left behind by coated bullets so there wouldn't be a problem with going right to jacketed bullets right after coated bullets.

Like most the posters above, I've had no problems shooting jacketed after coated (or PCed). Matter of fact I've had no ill effects when mixing any kind of bullet; shooting lead after jacketed, jacketed after lead, coated/PCed after either or before either. I clean my guns after each shooting session and see no fouling (or more than minimal color on patches)...
