Keep it "unfired" or shoot it?

There is no such thing as an "unfired" rifle.

Any reputable maker proofs or at least test-fires their product prior to shipping.

Mistwolf I really like yours. I might paraphrase but it would no longer be rated G.

Shoot it! We will all be long dead and gone before any H&R Handi-rifle is seen as a collectible.

It will get you a few bucks more, but it's still used and still has to be re-sold as such.
It's not a car, pre-owned does not = "used".

Do like everyone else does and shoot it all you want, then sell it as "Never fired" or "Less than 50 rounds".

Pre-owned, used, not new anymore...

...whatever floats your boat...

The only way an H&R single shot would ever have any collector value would be if someone had done something famous (or infamous) with that particular specimin.

Shoot it.

It would be fun to shoot black powder loads through it. They are easy to make and the handi rifle would be easy to clean up afterwards. 45-70 BP loads have a big boom, a big fireball and loads of smoke and leave most with a big smile on their faces at the range.

IMO, thats a shooter, not a safe queen oor wall-hanger to hold on to hoping for a drastic increase in value

I would not purchase a gun I would not shoot.I would invest that money in another form of art hoping for a profit.

Shoot it and enjoy it. I won't really be a valued collector piece about 100 yrs. None of us will be around to see that happen. Chances are that as that pieces gets moved around in ownership someone future family memer will put it in a garage sale and there it goes. Enjoy that rifle now while it is still a nice new one.
