Non-1911 .45 Suggestions Please

I have three DA/SA .45s - a P220, a USP, and an HK45 - and I think the P220 is my favorite (unless I'm shooting one of the others, anyway!)

I like a real safety that locks the hammer. That is a primary concern on a pistol. Make it safe!

I vote for the HK pistols. I have never fired a more accurate or more reliable automatic pistol.

Yes, I just bought a P220, and so far I am very happy. I have a few other SIG's also, and prefer a DA/SA. My P220 was bought new for $699 + shipping and is just outside your price range. I have been searching for a reasonable priced used P220 for a while, but decided to go with a new P220 since the price was right. I have the P220 Elite Scorpion with night sights, G10's and short reset trigger. Sorry for the bad picture, but I probably should make some time to take a better picture.

I like my 220 equinox, wouldn't hesitate to grab a p220 in any form

I'd say the FNX45 rocks. (at least it does, for me) Then there's the old S&W 645, and the Ruger P90. Both solid guns.
