Not the cheapest solution, but it rinses stuff very clean and dries virtually residue free. Use it to spray brushes and jags more than anything else. De-grease things here and there.

I just rinse brushes and jags of with the garden hose then soak over night in water and dish soap. Works ok and is very cheap. I just make sure they are dry before putting them away.

I use the B-12 from Berryman also .... I use ether on certain carbons ... Both outside away from any source of flame or spark .....

The B-12 works really well....

Brake cleaner is nasty stuff. I made a flying trip to the eye doctor just last week. #2 son was working on trailer brakes and got some in his eyes.

I dont use it on my guns, i guess its okay. I wrinkled up some delicate electronic connectors once with brake cleaner, ive been leary ever since.
I do use a blast of compressed air just about every time i have a gun disassembled.

I use the B-12 from Berryman. I use it to clean small gun parts in a pan, but I'd never spray it on an assembled gun. I'd never spray it down a bore either. There are much better gun products depending on the problem.

I also sprayed it on a rag to wipe lube off sized cases. Leaves 'em really clean & dry & saves a session through the tumbler for small batches.....FWIW

I use the good old standby for cleaning guns, Hoppe's No.9. Not going to experiment on my guns or myself with other cleaners. Been using it for 45 years . Works just fine.

Has anyone information about this practice? I'm about to use it on the piston of my SKS just because the piston looks like hell and Hoppies won't clean it up.

I buy cheap Walmart spray carburetor cleaner and clean all my firearms with it. It does not replace a rod and patch but it works pretty good for the loose and superficial stuff. You have to remove the wood from your guns or it will take off the varnish. I see no issues with using the spray cleaner as I have better things to do with my time than spend a lot of time cleaning guns when we have a Walmart just down the street and they are selling spray carb cleaner. But, that's just me.

I work on firearms a sometimes & when I have a very old military firearm that is very dirty, on the barrel my final
option is carb cleaner thru the barrel, It does better to remove black from the barrel better than
standard stuff. Just have to let it dry real well then wipe the barrel out a few times before oiling it real good, spray
oil in the barrel & let it stand a few hours to penetrate.
