I just rinse brushes and jags of with the garden hose then soak over night in water and dish soap. Works ok and is very cheap. I just make sure they are dry before putting them away.Looks like $4.49

Not the cheapest solution, but it rinses stuff very clean and dries virtually residue free. Use it to spray brushes and jags more than anything else. De-grease things here and there.
Yes, I don't use it on bores, if it came across that way, just a better product than brake cleaner for rinsing things off/out.I'd never spray it down a bore either. There are much better gun products depending on the problem.
I met a shooter at the club near St. Louis that cleaned his SKS with spray carb cleaner. I gave him a funny look and he told me that it would not harm the gun and worked like magic.
Has anyone information about this practice? I'm about to use it on the piston of my SKS just because the piston looks like hell and Hoppies won't clean it up.
