Think its a trick of the light.....

K frames are great, Ive had a bunch over the years. Currently have a Victory model and just bought that 6" M19.
A blued, round- butt snubby 19 is still on my bucket list. I think its the best looking revolver every made. I very rarely feed magnums to a K-frame (would rather not crack the forcing cone), but I like having the capability to fire them if necessary.

Load those mags light for about 1050 fps. or just use 38 cases at about 800 fps. My favorite 38 load is using American Select (flake shotgun powder) and 125 gr SWC. I can shoot that one until the cows come home.

One of the strangest M15s I ever owned was a brand new, in the box M15 with a bull barrel like the one on the M10 heavy barrel .38. It eventually got away from me - like 90% of all I've owned - and is the only one I've ever seen

Congrats.
Long ago I bought a 15-2 when I was getting ready to start a contract security job with the Federal gov. I knew I was going to be required to carry a .38 Special & I wanted the best one I could find.
Once I actually started I quickly learned I would be carrying an issued M10HB. Oh well.
Fast forward several years, I made the mistake of letting my wife shoot that M15. It is now her model 15.

I have found that (IMO) the model 15 really takes on a pleasing proportion with factory target grips. The image posted by ilgac is a good example. Also , the targets prevent knuckle bashing of the second finger. Perfect fit and looks.
Try 'em , you'll like 'em.

Forth Worth or Fort Wayne PD maybe?

Very nice....I'm debating fitting mine with factory target grips, though the Magnas aren't too bad shooting .38s.:)

I guess it could be Fort Wayne... shop I bought it from about 20 years ago said it was former Fort Worth issue. I never had a reason to question that.

I put the factory targets on it. It had Pachmayer Presentation grips on it when I got it. The Magna grips are smaller than I like andnot much to hold onto when firing. I like the feel of a target sized grip but I have never cared for the look of the rubber Presentations.

Nightlord40K :Yeah the 2" Square Butt Model10s might look cool, but if you were issued one and had to carry it in a Bucheimer shoulder rig as your Plain clothes duty gun as a Counter intel Agent you would have different feelings about them :)

Out of my entire collection of pistols my favorites are my Model 15 4" and my model 19 6". I still watch for deals to get more but deals are tough to find around here.
