My favorite shotgun of all time is the one I have carried with me all over the world wing shooting. The PH calls it the Killing Wand. It is a 20ga Browning Citori 525 Sporting gun, 32” ported barrels, adjustable comb, 15.25” pull. It is light, very quick and very deadly on pigeons, doves and sporting clays.
We went to the RSA pigeon shooting it was a tough week, got to Joberg on Sunday and the guns did not arrive in Free State from Paris until Thursday night. When we left, on our way out, we stopped at a truck stop mid way to take a break and get a cold drink. As I got out of the van, I saw the Assistant PH a short distance away, getting out of his van that had come the other way with a group from Norway and I heard one hunter say, “you promised to introduce us to him. “ So on my way to the restroom I walked by the group, the Asst PH said “this is the guy, that shot 1750 Rock pigeons in one day.” That is how my Citori got its nick name and I got delayed on my way to the restroom.
A shot gun can make many memories, more than most guns, in my experience. When you stand in front of your racks look and see what you see.
