1897 Winchester guard gun. Nothing else comes close.

Plastic? No thanks.

Actually Winchester Model 25 riot gun is far superior weapon. It's hard to believe but the farmer grade "Model 12" is numero uno defensive shotgun.

my Browning 725 12g/32" Sporting. Absolutely crushes orange clay targets!! :)

Very nice. Your Browning certainly looks like it can reach out and touch some clays. I have had the privilege of shooting a few Browning rental O/Us at a local clay shooting place and I really like how they handle and shoot.

Can't say I have a favorite, but my favorite action is the Pump-Action.

I have an 870 Wingmaster, Mossberg 500, and Benelli Nova. All the same action, but I love how each one is designed differently and each gun serves a role whether it's for waterfowl, deer, defense, or upland.

I also owned a Model 12 and Ithaca 37, and those were sweet classics as well.

If I had to choose, it'd be my Mossberg 500 in 12 ga just because it is the gun that I took my first deer with. It's simple, reliable, loose, affordable, and chalk full of features for the newbie.

For me it's my Mossberg 500 (looks a lot like the one in the photo below). I belong to a trap league so it gets a lot of use. Been shooting Mossberg 500s for close to 25 years so I'm just very comfortable with the control layouts.

my favorite is my Mossberg 500, plain jane with wood stock and 28" barrel. It feels like an extension of my body.

Being big admirer of Dickson round action my pick is Ruger Gold Label.

Remington Model 1100. I have owned plenty of others, some costing 15 times as much, but in 50 years, from Saskatchewan to the Gulf to the Chesapeake, the 1100s have never failed me. My first one took me from the local joke to league high average skeet shooter in under a year, and the only gun I have ever owned that I shot just a tiny bit better in the field was a certain Wingmaster.

I really enjoy the repeaters: Beretta, Benelli, A5, & Win/Ithaca pumps but for me, they just don't compare to a day afield with the old A.H. Fox. :)

Howdy

Without a doubt, this Model 12 is my favorite shotgun. Made in 1923, I shoot it every week on the trap field, and twice a week during league season.

I'm also pretty partial to this Model 1897, made in 1908.

For Cowboy Action, this little old Stevens side lock hammer gun is my go to shotgun. I'll try to get a photo of the whole thing.

Browning BPS. I love the bottom-eject, and the no-nonsense, practical, all-purpose pump-action design. Excellent quality for the price as well.

All Time Favorite

First of all, my absolute favorive is my 16 ga. Ithaca Model 37 Featherlite. I am left handed, so the bottom ejection is a real plus.
Next would be my Browning A-5 Light 12. What's not to love. It's a Browning.

I have two: a Western Field 550AR, which is just a Mossberg 500 in different garb, and a Savage 720 version of the A5.

Toss Up.

I shoot my Beretta BL-3 20ga the most. I had Ballistic Specialties put their Angle Ported chokes in it. Also have a Verona 501 with 28ga and 410 barrels that ranks about even with the Beretta but is more costly to shoot. Don't have a favorite 12ga.

Favorite Shotguns

My Ruger Red Label 20 goes to the trap range. It is FAST!!! And then, I look at my late Pop's Winch Model 12 in 16 ga sitting there in the closet begging for love, too. So, that goes to the range once in a while too. Love that gun.

Being big admirer of Dickson round action my pick is Ruger Gold Label.

Why? It wasn't a round action trigger-plate gun. The S&W Elite Gold IS however, as is its replacement, the Dickinson sold through Cabela's.

My S&W handles wonderfully with the English stock, double triggers and 28" barrels. I also am really liking my Beretta A400 for targets
