Is it worth the risk on waiting to buy ammo? Anybody see these prices going down soon?

Im in the "buy it if you see it and can afford it" My usual LGS hasn't been stocked well with 9mm for some time. Past few months they have been getting 1k round bulk packs and dividing them up into 50rds into sandwich bags. I haven't been buying those though and just letting them sell them to ppl that are buying new guns. I was at Rural King last week just to see what they had. They had 50rd boxes of Federal Game Match .22lr for $4 a box. Not cheap but I figured less than $20 for 4 boxes, I've already driven this far, might as well get something.

I've had luck with making the 25 minute drive down the interstate to Bass Pro. Every time I've gone they've had small random piles of 9mm and always bought some.

Example: As of this morning, you could order Herter's from BassPro for <$.18 per round. It's shown in-stock multiple times in the past week. As stated, you have to watch for it and be a bit quicker, but new brass cased 9mm FMJ can absolutely still be found for $.20 or less. If the pattern from the last couple of weeks holds out, this will be in stock again in 1-3 days.
What's more, I received a shipping notice, my Herter's is in route as we speak. It got put onto a truck in Utah last night, is in New Mexico as of now. Kinda funny, as I am in Louisiana, and changed my "home" store to a Miss location, because it had "limited stock". So it seems they have worked the bugs out of the supply/distribution part, and can/will ship faster now.

So, kudos to Bass Pro. They're basically single-handedly trying to keep the market prices sane, and in the process they're going to earn some new customers (like me). Just like we remember who gouged in the past, we're going to remember who hasn't jacked things up this time.

I will say it seems unlikely it will ever be as cheap as it was this time last year. Adjusted for inflation I believe 9mm was as cheap as its ever been.

Hello guys & gals.

So I've been hesitant to buy ammo lately with how insane prices are, with all this Corona Virus stuff.

I'm debating if it's worth the risk to wait for prices to go down. Anybody think there's a decent chance on prices not going down/not being able to buy decent amounts of ammo by the time the "Corona prices" go down? Maybe due to Joe Biden getting elected & "Hitlering" our weapons/ammo or something like that?

Whatdo you guys think?

Thank you in advance for all your responses,

Smart people buy low and sell high, that said, they could not do this if not for people that don’t need something until they think it’s going to be hard to get.

Then introduce people that actually shoot and the “save for rainy day” guys, dry up their supply and prices.

We will still have the waves in supply and demand long after people you talk to, look at you weird when you say “corona virus”; however, after Hillary lost, the firearm industry needed a jump start. That said, I’d rather you dump your money into a manufacturer, to sustain their survival, than into someone that just stocked up long ago and is now cashing in.

In other words, you don’t want to be the guy that buys an $80 P mag, you want to be the guy that sells an $80 P mag, that you bought for $10.

If you are going to worry about not ever being able to buy ammunition in the future because of something you read, just read something else that says you are going to die because of a virus and you’ll just give up and wait on the inevitable.
