I shot a local match and made some new friends. The RO was shredding the squad with a rifle optic on his open gun. I know its been done before but its new to me. When he mentioned where I could find a mount for the humongo optic I had to try it. Oh my gosh..

I was running a RTS2 previously, now im blasting with a holosun 510c. Overkill? How can a 65moa circle be overkill..

Well the micro reflex sights are not really "rifle sights". Yes people use them on rifles just as they use them on pistols and shotguns. For me, the micro sights are great as a backup to a scope when it comes to rifles. They are nice on a shotgun too. I prefer one with a circle dot reticle for shotgun use. And they have become very popular on pistols in the last few years. The micro reflex is nice to have once you get use to using them on a pistol. It is faster to sight in on the target versus iron sights and allows for faster follow up shots.

Where the micro reflex sights shine is their small size and light weight for use on pistols. I have one mounted on my Kel-Tec PMR30 and CP 33 and love them. I am also going to install on on my Glock G44 once my RMR slide comes in. And I have been considering getting one for my Glock G19.

Now if you have astigmatisms, the micro reflex red dots and the tube type red dots might not work so well for you.

Still smaller than a classic UltraDot.

"Nice optic you got there. Is that a gun attached to it?"

I have a Vortex Spitfire 3X just laying around,,,
Been contemplating putting it on my Buckmark.
Why? Why not!?!?

I'm about to have my S&W 622 drilled and tapped for a Weaver rail so I can mount a Holosun 507C. The 2MOA dot with 32 MOA ring is great for fast sighting. I don't really see any advantage of using the bigger 510C on handgun, but if you already have one laying around, why not? The way reflex sights work (you look past the sight like it's not there), having a larger glass window really shouldn't make a difference. If anything, I think the larger distance from the bore axis and the larger frame around the glass obscuring your view might be a negatives. I'd also rather keep the weight down on my 622 by going with the smaller sight, but it doesn't look like added weight is a consideration on the OP's race gun. I have Holosuns on my AK and my Mossberg 590 and they've been really great sights!
