A lot of greats of the late 19th & the 20th Century are here. Some mythic, others on the record.

There are many more but these 12 are top drawer. Pun! :D

Your choice when all is on the line, THR?

None. I hope never to be in a gun fight. Ever. I will make all attempts to avoid one at all costs. War makes you realize how horrible they are and how much killing, even a “bad guy” sucks. That sticks with you, you never forget it. It sticks with the victims families and often creates more desire for killing.

I don’t really think any person on this list would be my choice. Some are too overzealous while others just don’t care enough about anything. I’d hope that if a gunfight ever happened I’d have the foresight to avoid it and render aid to those in need.

If by some stroke of post apocalyptic bad luck in a hunger games situation where I HAD to choose I’d want someone with whom I’m familiar and with whom I’ve already done this. If I couldn’t have that I’d choose,
Sergeant Dipprasad Pun of the Royal Gurkha Rifles. Look that guy up.

I don’t want a “gun fighter” in that situation. I want a killer so I would go with Doc Holiday or maybe Cirrillo as they were less gun fighter and more fighter/killer

Mundon, Michelek, etc are/were all insanely fast and talented but give me somebody who is talented when the range is 2 ways.

I agree. That is why Jelly Bryce is my choice. They say in the annals that he never missed.

I went with Bill Jordan, because he was both fast and experienced. You didn't mention what kind of "gunfight" it was, but if it involves rifle work (Alvin York), MGs (Audie Murphie, and probably many more), tanks, aircraft, or bushcraft (David Crockett, Daniel or Squire Boon, maybe Alvin York again) my answer would be for someone else, probably.

As I might experience a "gunfight" today? I'm a civilian, so while Audie Murphy would be a great partner if I were up against a division of mechanized infantry, Bill Jordan experienced and trained for what I might actually (but hopefully will not) experience.

I voted Askins out of those as he was according to bill Jordan faster then him and honestly he was a pure man killer
I would also choose jelly Bryce, Jim Roberts, or Frank hamer
