X=treme bullets

I have used a lot of their plated 124gr HP and 230gr RN and experimented with a few other renditions. All are very good bullets.
 
Xtreme has been my first choice in plated bullets for several years. The seem to use hard cast lead underneath because they don’t get dinged up in the box like, say, Rainier plated bullets used to.
 
Oh Yea.... Xtreme are Good IMO. I've loaded several thousand in the past few weeks. I think I'd take them over Berry.
 
I use them in my .45ACP. They shoot fairly well and are an inexpensive alternative to jacketed. I use them for plinking ammo only.
 
I have only used extreme once and I was happy with them. They come in a bench buy and I looked around for them locally after I used that box. Nobody sold them but the locals did stock Berrys so that’s what I used. Some folks who have multiple vendors locally are blessed.
 
i like them. they used to be what i primarily shoot. now i use coated bullets from s&s and mbc. i like the 38 sp/ 357 147 gr dewc, 158 gr swc, 9 mm 147 gr RN , 45 acp 230 gr RN and 200 gr SWCS. the weights are consistent, more so than MBC. i don't get shaved off bullets unlike what happens occasionally with coated bulletswhile seating.
 
I also use x-treme bullets in 38 special, 357 mag, 9mm and 45 acp. As was mentioned earlier, do not exceed their velecity recommendation.
 
Xtreme plated bullets were the first bullets I loaded as that was my reloading club bought in a group buy. They seemed to work fine as I was learning how to reload. As I became more knowledgeable, I became less satisfied with their product.

I noticed that there was often a variance in bullet weight and diameter. I wrote it off to my inexperience until other reloaders I knew noticed it also. I became disenchanted with their when they brushed off a fellow reloader who complained about undersized bullets (.353-.354" 9mm slugs) with: "those are within spec"

I migrated my business to RMR for plated bullets and just stuck with them when they started producing jacketed bullets. They are now my go-to for everything expect coated bullets. The last time I bought Xtreme bullets are when I was able to get 10k (.357 158gr RNFP), during a Black Friday sale, with a 25% discount

I have heard that the Xtreme products have improved since filing Chapter 11 and being sold to LAX

I have them and use then in 380, 9mm, 45acp. In the 380 I have been loading the 100gr RNFP. In the 9mm both the 115gr and 124gr RN and in the 45acp the 200gr RN. As of late though most of my 380 and 45acp bullets have been hand cast by me.
 
Used them for years with no problems. They have gone up in price quite a bit over the past couple years. About 2 years ago I switched over to Hi-Tel coated mainly for cost reasons
 
I just received 500 of their .358 WC and 500 .358 Target HP last week. I shoot lots of their projectiles with out ever having an issue.

I use their 9mm, .38, & .44 plated bullets and have never had any problems. I wish they would make a plated 240 grain SWC.

I had the same experience with some X-treme jacketed bullets. Like you, I wasn't happy with the “undersized” bullets, but they did meet SAAMI spec of .3525-.3555”. That’s the only ones I’ve had a “problem” with. All of their 9mm plated bullets that I’ve used have been .355-.3555” and +/- less than a grain from their nominal weight, dating back to well before their bankruptcy and sale to LAX. I only load about 6000 rounds a year, so my sampling is probably smaller than yours, but with the exception of Precision Delta, no other brand of plated bullets that I’ve used has been as consistent in size and weight as X-treme. My only problem with them lately is their high shipping costs makes them significantly pricier than others. But, if I needed bullets and X-treme was all that was available, I'd buy them without hesitation. ymmv

Not to derail this thread, but you may want to consider a universal expander to prevent shaving.
 
Once again I would buy them at Cabela's when they would have regular sales on them before the BPS buy-out. I started with them for 9mm because they were less costly than plated and easier for me to load than cast lead in the 9mm. I then expanded my purchases to the 380 and 45acp and they perform well. Recently , within the past year, I started casting my own so I haven't been buying like I was. Now I will continue to buy them for the 9mm or I may start with the RMR bullets.

Same here. Great sales and they usually had a free 100 pieces of star line brass rebate (not once did i ever actually get those sent in though). I bought thousands in 40 and 45. Never an issue.
