AR-9 vs Ruger PC-9

I would get the AR9.

The new Ruger 9mm carbine is a boat anchor for what it is. No reason a 9mm carbine should be approaching 7 lbs makes in 2020.

The M1 carbine, a gun with twice as much energy per round, weighs just over 5 lbs. 1940s technology.

I owned the new Ruger for a grand total of two weeks before I traded it back in.

I looked at the Ruger "takedown" PCC and decided I didn't need one. I prefer the PSA carbine to any of the pistols due to pistol brace controversy. I do prefer the ballistics from 16 inch barrels over shorter ones. AR furniture and fire control parts made it a lock.

I went with a Ruger PC Carbine when I had to make the decision. Then I wound up liking it so much I bought a PC Charger to go with it. The only change I am making is to add a Taccom carbon fiber handguard to reduce the weight out front on the carbine. I've got a Sig Romeo 5 on both Rugers and feel confident enough to shoot out to 100 yards with no problem. For distances beyond that I have plenty of AR's.

I appreciate all the comments and input. I still can’t decide. But the doesn’t look as scary has perks. I hate that I couldn’t scrape up the money to make my choice before we got where we are now. Either choice will cost more and now be harder to find.
