Kirst coverter

It costed me some pride @ 478$ :) but it dropped right into my 2019 1860 army just fine. I took a dremel tool and went through 4 sanding drums before i could finally get a 45 colt to slide into the cylinder smoothly. All in all it was a relatively straight forward process but I must say i was surprised @ the amount of steel i had to cut out for the loading port.
 
I have been thinking about the Kirst conversions for my Pietta Model 1860 but you're all correct when you say it's kind of pricey! Still it would be nice to have the capability to shoot .45 Colt through it as I'm fairly well stocked with that ammo for my other single actions.
 
I also have the howells 45 lc conversion cylinder and it works great.I just wanted to be able to load the gun without pulling off the barrel. For 478$ i got the cylinder and the ejector rod conversion. Was it worth it? It was to me, hell i think its a thing of beauty and American history. One day this gun will be my sons. So im gonna make it as nice as i possibly can and keep it slicked up. So one day; when im gone , people will ask about his old colt revolver and he can tell his friends and children the history about "daddys gun" and hopefully pass it on to them.

I’ve long thought about a Kirst conversion for the 1860 Army. Full treatment with the ejector mounted in the loading lever spot. I just like the looks. Thought it would be better to just buy the Uberti Richards but their web site just shows both the Richards and Richards Mason having the ejector pinned to the barrel. Last I looked at the Kirst web site the full treatment with all the parts was approaching $700. Add that to the cost of the revolver and :what:
