My sister in law’s nephew (“So what’s that make us?”) is a very good guy, West Point hopeful, etc. and has a buddy who “Just moved to the USA from California” LOL and who wanted to try out a few guns he hadn’t shot yet. We went to the range with another new shooter/friend I’ve been working with and tried a bunch of guns, their guns, my guns, their ammo, my ammo, and had a very enjoyable 3-4 hours shooting.

It was almost like the good old days before the great ammo drought of 2020-21 :D

With the severe ammo crunch lately it was somewhat freeing and deeply satisfying to bust loose and just shoot a bunch of guns and not worry about how I was going to replace the ammo LOL.

We shot:
FIE .25 ACP (Surprisingly fun)
Arminius HW3 .32 S&W Long (Terrible and awesome)
Glock 48
SIG P365
Ruger 22/45 MKIII/Burris FFII
S&W M&P CORE 9L/RMR
SIG P226. (A fave)
Beretta 92FS Brigadier
Dan Wesson Heritage Razorback 1911 .45 ACP
Glock 41
Pietta Colt "Navy" .44 with Taylor's .45 Colt conversion cylinder
Pietta Remington NMA "Sheriff" with Taylor's .45 Colt conversion cylinder
Uberti 1875 Remington in .45 Colt
S&W M&P 340 .357 (ouch!)
Kel-Tec PF-9
Walther P.38 (AC41)
SWD M11/NINE with Lage M-11/22 conversion and AWC suppressor
Ruger PC Carbine/Romeo 5
SDS/Lynx-12 (Chinese Saiga 12) which was a HOOT!
Wasr-10 with Magupul Zhukov furniture
Ishapore Enfield in 7.62x51
Springfield Armory M1A
FN SCAR-17S
SIG Tread 5.56 pistol/brace

I think I got them all. Anyway, tons of fun.

What, did you just buy the whole pawn shop?
:)

As a fellow Californian who recently moved to the non-California part of the US, I can attest that we refugees need to bang a whole lot of random ammo out a whole lot of random guns, in order to drive off the demons and allow the healing process to begin.

And I still love Cali, btw. But I love guns as well.

So thank you.

I read the list and the first thing which came to mind was "Damn. That's a lot of cleaning". :p
I generally just wipe the fingerprints and crud off and keep guns well-lubed these days. Actually I do need to thoroughly clean the Enfield because we shot some horrible (and I'm sure corrosive) Egyptian click-bang ammo through it. Thanks for the reminder!

Great time!

Plan to hit the range with my father this weekend for the first time in ... quite a while.

We'll only bring 3 or 4 guns, but it'll be nice to burn some powder together again.

Have to say that was one of the most awesome line-ups I have seen at the range in a very long time! Glad everyone had a "blast"!

Now about cleaning all those guns...I must admit that was the second thing I thought of when I saw your post!

Heck, I pulled a couple of bricks of primers out of the stash to prep some brass for loading and it almost felt like I was throwing hundred dollar bills in the gutter.
Yeah, every time I break open my rapidly diminishing stash of SPP I can hear the impending doom on the way. Haven't run out yet but it's starting to get uncomfortable. I'm 100% out of remington #10 caps though, which sucks. I have a bunch of black powder now and I can't set it off. :(

I managed to accumulate a lot of #11 caps, but few 10s. If we are taking about cap and ball revolvers, you can buy a set of nipples from Track of the Wolf that are designed for 11s.

Great story.

Man, some folks are sure all about the OP cleaning guns. Maybe you should trash those nickel plated sissy pistol and get yourselves a Glock! Less cleaning, more fun time! LOL!

I'm feeling the primer pinch. I still have some and some loaded ammo but am conserving it until I can replace it. Went out yesterday morning, it was chilly and a bit windy and my old 78 year old eyes started to water pretty fast. Fired 2 rounds, one 6 grains Unique with a 358429 in a 38 special case and the other a 150 grain 358477 in a 357 case with 7 grains Unique. Both hit where they should on a 6x6 swing plate at 25 yards and I quit. I used to shoot every day, damn I wasted a lot of stuff. Now I just work on the basics, if it works good I quit if not I'll stick with it until it does.

The OCD in me would have made me have a lousy shoot, I wouldn't have been able to focus with all the gear in disarray like that, lol. I used to haul out everything along with all the necessary mags, ammo, cleaning supplies, targets, etc... it was always so much work, so it's a good thing you brought the fellas, and extra set of hands is helpful when humping all that gear in and out. Looks like an awesome time. I've got some time off coming up, 10 days!!! I'm hoping spring cleaning (working) on my time off allows me a day or two to get out and shoot some, maybe teach a relative a couple things about guns. I'm overdue for a 5-6 hour shooting day :D.

Glad you and your folks got out to shoot.

For damn sure. I've got plenty of most things, but I feel so bad about using any of them that I get no joy at all from it. I'm at the point where I'm wondering if the antis finally figured out how to beat us.

Whats nice about that clip, is Jones is actually carrying a glock. Isn't there some unspoken rule in Hollywood about correctly stating the make of a firearm depicted in a scene. Isn't this the part in the movie where Jones is supposed to say ".......and get yourself a glock" while holding up a Smith and Wesson M29?
